You want to create a series primed for optimal transformative work? Leave the most burning questions unanswered but drop just one or two really disconcerting stray bits of dialogue. Make the setting campy with just a few Troubling Coincidences no one fully addresses. Let the audience catch a few worms but keep a forest of barren hooks looming ominously in the distance. Give the fans a sandbox and fill it with landmines.
to me the thing about deification is that something fundamental is lost in the process
people can’t be immortal. so in order to be immortal you can’t be a person anymore. you have to be distilled. stripped of everything. till you come out the other side as an abstract concept.

i keep thinking about how most depictions of the power of prophecy only acknowledge the potential for abuse in insofar as accepting that people can lie and the existence of grifters (false prophets) when there's so much more potential to it
what are the moral/ethical ramifications of knowing information about other people that they don't have access to unless you choose to share it with them? is it ever okay to withhold information about the future in order to negotiate or simply because you have no interest in sharing it? is it ever okay to demand that someone share information about the future with you because you suspect it could be relevant to your imminent decision process? is it an irresponsible and selfish rejection of duty of care to ignore or reject a premonition or to only take advantage of precognition for personal use? is prophecy an invasion of privacy? what about the potential for abuse of prophetic power in order to manipulate and even terrorise by withholding, misleading, or even outright fabricating, knowing that your position is safe due to the value of your power to those who might prosecute you for it? to what extent does personal bias affect the translation of prophetic visions into the future tense? who does a prophet serve? is a prophet human? does the humanity of the prophet matter at all?
Why does everyone think fiction is just fantasy wish fulfillment now and not like an exploration of themes and ideas
An absolute favorite ship dynamic of mine is between a character who died and a character who, despite staying alive, was so fundamentally transformed by their loss, for the worse or for the better, that they also metaphorically died at the same time as their beloved. I eat that shit up every time.

Oh I adore characters that could've been friends if not for their circumstances, but can I raise you: characters who were friends in spite of their circumstances?
I actually think it's super cool when characters who are doomed by the narrative win or survive anyway on a technicality. Like yeah ok maybe you can't fight fate in the typical sense but malicious compliance is always an option
they could heal each other if only they shed their masks but they're convinced that doing so would destroy the bond they're so desperate to preserve. they love they offer is unconditional but they've both been raised to believe that any love they receive is conditional, wholly dependent on their ability to keep the act up
