Clark sighed. He gave Krypto a treat for getting him but they were just too late to stop Kara. Getting a mischievous smirk he floats into her room and sets his old radio to start playing music at the most annoying local station he could find, at about five ‘o clock in the morning.
@ask-superman
Kara gets back just after 4, wasted and sneaking back in with the plan to sleep in until evening after the party she had been at. None the wiser to Clark's prank, she awakens an hour later to kazoo music, confused out of her mind and unsure if she's sobered up at all
“Gooooooood morning Kara!” Clark said loudly as he floated down from the sky. Well, loudly for him and her, not loud enough to wake up Ma and Pa. Krypto barked happily next to him and flew in through the window and started licking Kara’s face.
"What is this noise?" Kara demands, gesturing to the radio. "Xould it not wait until evening?"
“That is the most annoying instrument I could think of, a kazoo.” Clark explained proudly as he reached in and turned off the radio. “And no. It’s an old rule Ma and Pa put in place, you sneak out and come home late, you’re woken up early and put to work.”
"That's not fair, I was entirely unaware of this rule! And the planet I was on has a completely different day night cycle than Earth does, keeping track was hard!" Kara whines
Clark chuckles and hold up a hand. “Don’t worry, I’m not gonna make you do any chores. Just wanted to prank you a little and let you know the rule.” He explained. “I’ll let you sleep a bit Kara, I do want to talk with you about something but it can wait a few hours.”
"Are you sure? Are you sure it can wait? Because the prank sure as fuck couldn't, huh?" Kara sasses, crossing her arms angrily. "Next time you're in solar recovery for something, I'm finding a tuba to blast in your ear not even an inch away"
“You’re looking at the guy who won the most annoying student contest four years in a row in high school.” Clark said giving her a look that said “try me.”
"Yeah, well, I'm younger and haven't developed the "kids these days" mindset!" She smirks, jabbing at his age

Diana’s waiting in Kara’s room in the Watchtower for the teenager. When she found the room empty she sighed and decided to wait for her to return.
@amazon-princess
Kara comes back, red eyed and giggling, shushing herself as she leans on the wall to unlock her own door. She's been out of the solar system partying and making terrible teenage decisions for the last 12 hours
Diana waited for Kara to open the door. “Had fun?” She asked as the lights switched on.
Kara jumps. "Before you even ask! Everything I did is totally legal on the planet I did it and since nothing I partook in exists on earth there's no laws about it," her words are still slurred despite being in a yellow sun system now, whatever she'd taken it was strong
“Clearly.” Diana said clearly amused. “Actually you’re old enough to drink in Themyscira as well, so I came by to see if you’d like this.” She said holding up a small Ancient Greek style jar. It’s roughly the same size as a cup. “Wine from my home. Nothing is worse than drinking alone.”
"Fuck yeah! Lemme just... burn this stuff off real quick, I dunno how it'll react with earth stuff," Kara chuckles, flying to the sun and returning fully sober less than a minute later. "I don't think I'm gonna end up going back to that planet for parties, the aftertaste once it burned up was horrible"
Clark sighed. He gave Krypto a treat for getting him but they were just too late to stop Kara. Getting a mischievous smirk he floats into her room and sets his old radio to start playing music at the most annoying local station he could find, at about five ‘o clock in the morning.

Clark limps through the door and plops down on his favorite chair with a tired sigh. His suit has tears in it, and he has cuts, burns, and bruises clearly visible all over him. “Ow.” He groaned after a moment.
@ask-superman
Conner, Match, and Jon all come running into the room, Connor upset, Match looking angry, and Jon looking scared.
"Who hurt you?" Match demands, already prepared to fight.
"Did you win?" Connor asks, being more sensible and trying to keep calm for Jon's sake.
John goes to get the first aid kit
“Metallo.” Clark groaned giving Jon a grateful smile. “And yes, I won. He’s now cell mates with Rudy Jones. Which is perfect because now Rudy can feed off of the kryptonite and stop Metallo from getting enough power to break out. And Rudy won’t be motivated by hunger to break out.” He explained reassuringly.
"Oh, good, so Match won't to making any dumb decisions," Conner sighs.
"Yeah he will, that won't stop him," Jon mumbles.
Match crosses his arms, "screw off, I make great decisions!"
“I trust Match to do the right thing and not break into prison to beat up Corbin.” Clark said pointedly. “And Jon, I appreciate you trying to help with the first aid, but with these injuries, the only thing that can help is sunlight. Once I’ve rested a bit I’m going to the Fortress to soak up some.” He said kindly.
"Thank you!" Match throws his hands in the air.
Conner snorts at the other clone's dramatic reaction.
"Mom says covering injuries os healthier than letting them dry out," Jon says as he continues to apply the bandages
“Ah, well Lois knows best so carry on.” Clark chuckled letting Jon apply the bandages.
“Anything exciting while I was gone?” Clark asked curiously.
"Damian got stabbed again," Jon frowns. "Acted like it was no big deal too."
"That's about normal for the bats," Conner shrugs.
"I joined the school newspaper," Match blurts out, shocking his brothers
“Damian gets stabbed more than Bruce did when he was starting out.” Clark observed. “It’s honestly a little worrying.”
“You did?” Clark asked surprised, but in a happy way. “Did you already write an article?”
"Yeah... need it proof read..." Match shrugs, getting a bit awkward as all focus shifts to him. "It's about the way the school budget is being used..."
“Don’t ask Lois to do it.” Clark said quickly with a joking smile. “Even autocorrect has given up on her. If you want I could look it over.” He offered.
Match nods, going to get his article out of his backpack. It's double spaced and on the same kind of notebook Clark uses for his articles, even the pens are the same brand and style, he just uses a different color ink. He's clearly been watching Clark a lot closer than anyone had noticed in anticipation of his first article.
"I, uh... found some rather large discrepancies in the school budget and how it claims it's being spent... so there's a lot there..." he mumbles, shrugging.
Conner furrows his brows, "like what?"
"Claiming they don't have enough money to update the textbooks for history and science but buying all new football and basketball equipment from a top rated seller, just to start... the two sports our school does the best in state competitions for."
"Woah..." Jon lifts the corner of the pages, checking how many Match wrote. "That's not an article, its a book!"
Clark laughs proudly as he read through it, taking advantage of his super speed. “Match, this is some darned good reporting!” Clark announced after he read through it. “You wanna be a journalist like me and Lois when you’re older?” He asked curiously.
"I don't know yet, but it feels better than constantly fighting with Conner... helps me put my aggression aside... did you wanna be a reporter growing up?"
“Honestly, I was torn.” Clark admitted. “Part of me never wanted to leave Smallville. That part wanted to stay and take over the family farm. But another part of me wanted a job where I could go out there and see the world. Ma used to say I was full of wanderlust, they both said that they’d support me no matter what.”
"I always figured with as much space posters are on the walls of your old bedroom you wanted to work for Nasa," Conner mumbles.
Match gives him a deadpan look. "He was yearning for Krypton, you absolute bafoon."
"Why do you always insult Conner?" Jon looks up at Match.
"Keeps me from punching him in the face instead," Match shrugs, being honest. "I got issues from being isolated underground."
"Oh," Jon nods like that makes total sense and turns his attention back to the article. "Doesn't he have to shorten that?"
“They could print a special issue that’s just the article.” Clark said thoughtfully. “But if you don’t want to outshine your friends, then yeah, I’d recommend shortening it.”
“And I did at one point Connor.” Clark said gently. “I even had a telescope that I’d use for stargazing almost every clear night.” He added with a chuckle. “If you want to use it you can.”
"Heck yeah, space is cool!" Conner grins.
"You sound like you're Jon's age," Match rolls his eyes.
"I mean, technically we aren't much older than he is," Conner chuckles. "Don't give me scary eyes, you know it's true!"
Match closes his eyes as they glow red, taking deep breaths. Conner hits such a nerve for him that nobody else manages.
"I think Match needs more red sunlight therapy," Jon whispers very poorly to Clark. Even without their powers everyone still would have heard him
“Jon, don’t be rude.” Clark said sternly. “He’s making good progress with the therapy he’s been getting.”
“And Match, good job not lashing out.” Clark complemented.
“Now Connor, do you know what you want to do when you’re grown up? Maybe an astronaut working for NASA or STAR Labs?” Clark asked curiously.
"Nah, that's cheating... imma just steal your cape," Connor teases with a grin.
Match shakes his head, covering his eyes with his hands as they glow brighter. "That's not going to pay your bills! Gosh!"
"Oh, someone's hot headed today," Connor chuckles.
"How do you press all my buttons?!"
"Like an elevator, I drag my hands down the button pannel," Connor laughs but yelps as Match grabs him by the collar, drags him outside, and locks him out on the balcony so he can't get down without witnesses. He then returns to the livingroom, rubbing his temples. "He's insufferable"
Clark chuckles. “Thank you for not hurting him.” Clark said sounding both grateful and proud. “According to Ma and Pa, he’s just being a brother. Siblings always push the buttons to annoy you, but there’s no one better to have at your side when the going gets tough.”
"I didn't feel like fixing the wall again," Match mumbles. "Might give him a swirly though if he keeps it up"
“I’ll talk with him later then. Tell him to stop pushing your buttons so much.” Clark decided.
A few days later Clark was typing a story at his desk at the Daily Planet when he heard Match walking up to him. “Hey Match, what are you doing out of school so early?” He asked looking up. “Something happen?”
Match slams the shortened article they'd worked on finishing together. "They won't let me publish it! They said it's "liable" and "morally reprehensible" for exposing their spending habits for school equipment!"
Clark sighed and rubbed his eyes under his glasses. “I hoped they wouldn’t do this.” He sighed disappointed. Fortunately, not at Match.
“I got an idea.” He said after a moment. “Let’s see if Chief is willing to publish this.” He said standing up and picking up the article.
"I worked for a whole month gathering evidence of the things I was overhearing the office workers whispering about! They're not even good at whispering! The kid in Art Class who keeps his hearing aids low could probably hear them!" Match throws his arms in the air, blinking weird with his left eye for a moment to fix his normal colored contact, but it looks like an angry eye twitch as he follows Clark
Clark limps through the door and plops down on his favorite chair with a tired sigh. His suit has tears in it, and he has cuts, burns, and bruises clearly visible all over him. “Ow.” He groaned after a moment.

Clark limps through the door and plops down on his favorite chair with a tired sigh. His suit has tears in it, and he has cuts, burns, and bruises clearly visible all over him. “Ow.” He groaned after a moment.

Conner, Match, and Jon all come running into the room, Connor upset, Match looking angry, and Jon looking scared.
"Who hurt you?" Match demands, already prepared to fight.
"Did you win?" Connor asks, being more sensible and trying to keep calm for Jon's sake.
