@wynterlanding : AVATAR + lonely
Eloise is a natural born story teller. It's her biggest passion and her favorite past time, to learn everything she can about a family and it's history. Down to even the smallest, tiny detail. So, imagine it with me:
You are approached by a confident woman who claims to want to write a complete story about you and your family. Maybe it's not uncommon, perhaps you come from a large family, maybe with more than one person who has been super successful in their career and outshines the rest. You've felt a bit left out because of this, because you don't really know what you want to do with your life. Seeing all the different paths and success around you is just dizzying. It's confusing, it's stressful.
Maybe you find your way somehow, a path with a job you actually enjoy or a hobby that was starting to get you attention. Then comes the woman. She introduces herself as Madame Grey. She heard about you specifically and wanted to do a special story on your life and your family. With a special focus on you. She gets all the details of your life, maybe even things you'd never told your family or friends. Minor successes that you were proud of but you kept to yourself because you didn't feel they were good enough, that you were good enough. But this woman, she takes it all in and promises that the story will get your life out there in it's entirety. That everyone will see you for what you are.
In a way that scares you. To be seen so entirely, it makes you want to disappear. You don't want to attention like you thought you did. But, in the end it doesn't matter. When the story comes out, there is not a single mention of you. Every detail of your life was taken from you, while the rest of your family was highlighted. It is simply as if you didn't even exist.
You try to play it off like it's some cruel joke, laughing about it at first. But whenever you bring it up, no one else seems to notice. Like they had forgotten you had been left out. They simply reassure you, tell you not to worry about it. Which is comforting at first. But then they slowly, slowly begin to move on. They notice you less and less, they even stop addressing you. You aren't called for family gatherings anymore, no one invites you to the latest wedding or funeral. They just forget you exist. Even your friends stop inviting you out. It is simply like you never existed at all.
Until one day, you just disappear. And no one notices.
As an avatar of the Lonely, Eloise targets primarily large families with rich histories, but less documented. She looks for the member of the family who is the least documented and targets them for the Lonely. Then it's just a matter of learning every tiny bit of their existence so she could strip it away and make them feel as insignificant as they think deep down they are.
