YAYYY Mermay!! I've been agonising on how to turn Brad into a merfolk for years, because I love merfolk, but I'd always been unsure on what to do for him and never followed through.

But I got a really cute comm where the artist greentraingirl turned Brad into a fish, and I finally had inspiration to turn Brad into a merfolk, so I commissioned @alalnsted (Vgen Link) to help design a MerBrad based on that and I looove how it came out :D The scales are so shiny and the fins are so pretty <3

If the piece I got from greentraingirl didn't give me the idea to go Betta, the idea I was musing but had been stuck on otherwise these past years was maybe something more… serpent-y? Eel-y? Maybe even a tor linnorm. Bit like the nagas in WoW.

I'm not going to think about how this Brad would actually function like is he. a lava living fish. or is he like, normal fish. is there any fire involved. why does he have horns. DON'T THINK ABOUT IT.

『"Aren't mermaids suppose to be pretty?"』

The Devastador Trio in their full mermaid glory~ As stated before they're based (or "twisted") from real life animals from the sea.

Both Camila and Calliope are from the Midnight Zone, so their appearances are more "alien" looking; both women are used to scarcity within their zone, so when a meal does come by: they eat quickly. Patience and conserving energy is key to surviving.

Whereas Marilla looks a little normal since she's from the Twilight Zone of the ocean. She's a bit bulky and big, so she either hits or misses her prey. Then broods for 30 minutes because she messed up (its okay bbg//shot).
