He looked confused, urgently pulling her face into his chest and cradling her shivering body against hers. He would have suggested it were her period, but she looked too panicked for that to be the case - after all, only the week before had sheâd been having spotting, as theyâd believed, but the negative pregnancy test only confirmed it was her period; so there was no way that this spurt of blood could be her period. Austin swallowed hard, terrified of all the possibilities of what this could mean, ranging anywhere from ovarian cancer to some kind of growth in her womb, and pulled back, wiping the frightened tears from her face. âIâm taking you to the hospital right now,â he said, already standing and grabbing her pads and a new pair of underwear. âHere you go. Meet me at the front door,â he ordered, with a tone that didnât leave room for agreement - and Austin rarely got commanding like this, so he knew she would listen. He stood and moved to Alexâs room, waking his son up, and he felt terrible scaring him like this but they couldnât leave him at home. âMommy and Daddy have a late night adventure to do, okay?â He said, trying not to sound terrified as he grabbed Alexâs little preschool backpack filled with his toys and DS games. "You can sleep in the car, alright, Alex?â He said, lifting his son into his arms and carrying him to the front door where Ally was waiting. The poor boy was still sleepily blinking in confusion, not really sure what was happening as Austin led them outside to his car and got everybody in before starting the drive to the hospital. His knuckles turned white on the steering wheel, before he swallowed hard and reached for Allyâs hand, the other hand still gripping the wheel tightly.
Feeling Austin pull her towards his chest and cradled her, she lets out a small breath just glad that she had such an amazing husband by her side. She was beyond scared, not knowing where all this blood had came from. She knew it wasnât her period considering it never was this much blood, whatever it was, it scared her. She wasnât sure what was wrong with her, if she could die within the next few days. âI --â Just as she was about to protest about going to the hospital, she knew that she couldnât, she had to go to see what was wrong with her. Along with the commanding voice of his, she nodded her head taking hold of the items and as Austin left, she changed and met Austin in the front of the house. She felt bad that she and Austin had to wake up their sleepy son. When they got to the car, she opens the passenger seat and pulls the seatbelt over her. Glancing over towards Austin, she sees his grip on the steering wheel, which caused her to frown as he took hold of Allyâs hand. âHey.. do you think we should leave Alex with Trish or Dez? I mean.. I donât think heâll like the hospital very much and I donât want him to be worried about me..â she replies weakly while glancing over towards him.Â
