Anyway if you want to know if an illustration is AI micro-analyzing it will reveal nothing because AI is constantly advancing to hide known tells and also human art is imperfect and may have mistakes you're blaming on AI because you only want to see nails.

The best way to vet illustrations is to find the source and see if the original artist/poster has things in that same art style; whether or not they post wips, sketches, etc.; or whether they straight up claim or display more obviously AI art. Going over visual art with a fine-toothed comb is almost never going to help you and will result in false positives and therefore false accusations against actual artists.

You have to build your personality around fact checking instead of around doing bad-faith over-analysis. This is the em dash thing all over again and I'm starting to think some of you are just both mean and stupid.

The number of people worrying that this is AI (it's not, it's real!) is a reminder to clearly include the source of every cool thing you repost from a different site!

Just being able to find a source doesn't automatically prove anything, but if you click around this guy's page you can see that even though all his videos are breathtakingly magical, he clearly describes himself as a videographer, and he posts multiple videos of the same distinctive animals from different angles, at realistic time intervals representing the tours he takes people on. This big flock of rays is a mobula ray migration, which you can see lots of other tour companies and travel bloggers talking about if you look.

The tour company responsible for this specific video is called Baja RAW:

The photos in the reviews are sometimes the highly professional ones from the company's videographer (wandering.westerner) and sometimes are less professional selfies from the tourists themselves. Clicking through their other reviews suggests they are individuals that actually exist. The company has a website with contact info.

Any one of these things wouldn't necessarily be a guarantee, but all together it's way too much effort for an AI grifter.
