I like to think that Ilya’s biggest toxic trait is that he is constantly parking in no-parking zones in Boston and getting ticketed for it, but he’s so fuckass rich that he just doesn’t care. To him, it’s less hassle than simply parking in a garage or circling around looking for a spot.

He never impedes emergency access or parks in accessible parking spots, but everything else is fair game. His car collection is as big as it is because sometimes when his car gets towed, instead of going to the tow lot right away he just buys a new car.

When Shane finds this out he nearly rips his own hair out from the second-hand stress and idiocy of it all. Ilya defends himself, says that with all the money he’s paid in parking tickets he’s been generously funding the city’s infrastructure. If Heated Rivalry took place in the 90s he could’ve single-handedly funded the cost of the Big Dig with all those parking tickets.
