“I can get that. If I get bored with too many days off, I can’t imagine what it’s like getting bored knowing there is such an eternity in front of me.” Call her morbid, but it was almost comforting knowing that she only had a finite time to do everything she wanted to do.

“Trust me, I know,” she laughed, “you’re probably one of the scariest people I know when you’re angry, and that’s saying something” and it truly was, seeing as her boyfriend was Balthazar Windham, who singlehandedly destroyed an entire community of people. “Everything, Cass!” she exclaimed, “I feel like i’m failing at everything,” she huffed, “it’s always been a problem of mine, but it’s just so… heightened’
"Look, you’re not failing at anything.” She assured the other, it was a feeling she had been familiar with too in the past, and she didn’t mind passing on what she hoped was pearls of wisdom to the other. “It’s just called life. Sometimes things are good and easy, sometimes they’re not and you just need to power through! You’ve got some great friends, me, and I’ll help you with whatever you need.”

“I did.” Franklin nodded, his hand reaching up to rub his forehead. He knew that it was a mistake, but at least Cassandra wouldn’t judge him for doing something so stupid. “You know, I asked her if she wanted to go somewhere else, but she had to have me there.” He closed his eyes, slightly embarrassed by the fact.
Cassandra couldn’t help the chuckle that escaped from her, the sheer thought of sleeping with someone behind Rodan’s made her feel so... unsanitary. God only knows what was behind that place, and now she was glad she never went to find out. “Wow, maybe you’re quite the lover.” She suggested, with another laugh. “I’d try and take it as a compliment if I were you.”

“Weird things have happened in our lives.” Autymn said, her hands reaching up to the ends of her hair. How could she tell a stranger that she thought her older sister was dead for the last nine years? “I am speaking to her now, yes. I’m actually living with her.”
"See so that’s a good thing!” Cassandra said with a grin, pleased that no matter what had gone on, the redhead sounded like she was in a slightly better position than potentially before. “The universe has strange ways of working to bring people all back together when they need to.”

The gasp made Alithea smile. Of course the dress would look that good. She knew that it was much closer to her style, plus a black dress for after the wedding was fitting. The party was a funeral to her own life. “So it’s a yes from you?” She asked with a quiet laugh. “It feels really silky.”
“I love it!” Cassandra could hardly contain her excitement and just quite how gorgeous the other looked in the black dress. “I don’t think words can actually describe how great you look, it’s positively gorgeous.”

“Will do.” Alithea took the dress, throwing it over her shoulder as she began walking in the direction of the changing rooms. Inside, she changed, feeling the soft fabric on her body. She stepped out, her back tall as she turned to where she assumed Cassandra was. “Yes?”
Cassandra bounced up and down on her toes as she waited for the other to get into the dress she’d picked out, the excitement building within her. She let out a loud gasp as soon as the other stepped out of the changing rooms. “Oh my god, if I could use words to describe how good you look I would, but I am speechless.” She said, her hands clapping together in front of her. “How does it feel?”

“No - he’s not pressuring me to do anything, he’s a gentleman, I promise, it’s -” she went quiet as she sighed, running a hand over her face. “Something happened, and it’s just turned my world around and everything I try to do I feel like I fail at or I’m not good enough. I’ve always felt like that but I’ve managed to put it aside but ever since this happened it’s been heightened and I just… I can’t escape it”
"Okay good, because I would be coming for him quicker than you could say ‘Cassandra don’t’ if he was.” She assured the other, her face telling exactly how serious she was on the matter. “Okay well you’re not talking any sense, because what could you possibly be failing at? There’s so much out there in the world and there’s always going to be things you do great at, and things that you suck at. It’s why you don’t ever see me do math.”

Lucius gave a soft laugh “Maybe you could save some for my enemies too” Poisoning was a smart and classy way to end someone, it matched a woman like her “If I saw you on the street I would never imagine you harvest poisonous plants at night . When did you become interested in them? I mean, plants in general”
“Let me know who they are and I’ll make sure they wind up in their next bouquet.” Cassandra said with a sweet smile, the innocent look on her face a contradiction to the words that she’d said. “It’s always the ones you least suspect, don’t you know?” She added with a laugh. “My tia was a florist, so I just followed in her footsteps. Did you have a family member that taught you how to skulk around in the shadows of the woods at night?”

“I’m being realistic, Cass,” she sighed, “I’ve never been in a relationship before, this is my first serious one, I don’t know what I’m doing and if I do things wrong. What if I do something wrong and completely ruin our relationship?” she gasped, covering her mouth. “Oh god, I’m so bad at this” she groaned, now covering her face, “there’s too much pressure”
"You just said that you’re happy, Calla. Surely that must tell you that there is something there that you’re doing right?” Cassandra assured the girl. She didn’t know too much about the relationship itself, but that much she knew. “Who’s putting pressure on you? Is he? Because if he’s pressuring you to do something that you don’t want to do I swear to god I’ll have a curse on him so fast.”

Alithea followed along, her free hand felt the fabrics along them. Whenever Cassandra held out the dress, she felt all of it. “I think I love it, but I have to feel it on.” She wished she could see the dress. “Plunging necklines are some of my favorite.”
“Then you know what you’ve got to do, right?” Cassandra said, she could feel herself wiggling slightly as she got excited, despite knowing that. Alithea couldn’t see her. “Go try it on! I bet it looks gorgeous, I’m excited for you!”

“That sounds perfect!” Autymn would have loved to keep different types of flowers in books at home. It would have been calming and beautiful. “I think she likes roses. Until a couple of months ago, I hadn’t talked to her in nine years. Things change.”
“Jeez, nine years. That is a long time.” Cassandra commented, the thought of not speaking to her little sister in that time wasn’t one that she particularly enjoyed. “But you’re speaking to her now right? So why not bond over a little foliage and toast to never going that long without speaking again.”

“I don’t think I could have done any worse than sleeping with someone behind Rodan’s.” Franklin placed his forehead in his hand. He didn’t mean to admit that, but he trusted Cassandra wouldn’t say anything to anyone. “That was rock bottom.”
Cassandra let out a gasp, looking over the man next to her. “No you didn’t!” She exclaimed, letting herself laugh a little at the thought. “You dirty dog. Literally.” She teased, an elbow coming out to nudge him as she made her comments. “You can do better than behind Rodan’s, you know. But everyone deals with things in their own way, and if getting laid behind a dive bar was the way for you, then who am I to judge?”

“That’s not as many as you’d think.” Jacqueline hopped off of the counter, moving to lean on the island across from her. “It’s almost annoying sometimes. After being alive so long, life almost sucks.”
"I mean, I haven’t turned or killed anyone in my time so it’s a lot to me.” Cassandra laughed, not that she had the means to turn anyone into anything. “Yeah I’m not sure I fancy the whole ‘eternal’ thing. It’s gotta get boring at some point, right?”

While the man rattled off the technicalities in their “shipping policy”, Grace gave up the fight and hung up on the man. She staggered, one leg still wrapped up in the cord. “I’m good. I got it”, she told the woman. Her movements were clumsy, and it looked as if she would surely topple over but somehow she managed to muster up enough grace to free herself. Pushing back the long strands that had fallen into her face from looking down she smiled to the woman. “How can I help you?”
Cassandra couldn’t do much else but stand and watch the other, and be ready to potentially call 911 if the other managed to do some serious damage to herself while she tried to conclude her phone call. “I’m not after anything specific, I’m just popping in to see what’s new.” She explained, gesturing to the shelves. “Anything in particular I should check out?”

“Yeah…I just…” Her eyebrows furrowed together. “After Tessa…I just…haven’t had the motivation.” She’d been out hunting for plants on the night her sister had died. It made her feel guilty. Gardening had come before family.
Cassandra brought a comforting hand up to rest on the others arm, a small but sad smile on her face. She hadn’t known Tessa herself, but she’d seen how affected the family had been by the loss. “If ever you want some inspiration. Or even a helping hand. Might be easier to get back into it if you’ve got me jabbering your ear off.”

“I’m honestly not sure.” Jacqueline shrugged. She knew it was in the teens, but she wasn’t completely sure. “Okay, I won’t do anything that would dismember me. I’m quite fond of my limbs.” She let out a laugh. “They make my jobs easier.”
“Wow, that many.” Cassandra was curious about vampirism, not knowing in too much detail what actually came with it. Anything other than being a caster wasn’t really discussed in her house growing up, no more so than ‘you should stay away’. “That’s a fair point.” She chuckled, shuddering slightly at the thought. “Must be nice though, knowing nothing can really get you.”

Franklin had never tried to get to know Cassandra. He was older than her, but he had only heard good things about the florist. She had done beautiful arrangements for all of the funerals in town. “It is a loaded question.” He took a slow, deep breath. “I’m doing much better than I was.”
Cassandra felt as though she knew the Marsh family better than she really did - conversations with many of them for funeral arrangements had her familiar with enough of them to be able to chat with them when she saw them around town. “Better is a good thing. It means that you’re moving in the right direction. I’d be more concerned if you said you were doing a lot worse.” She added with a small laugh, her attempt at lifting the mood slightly.
