I stand with Maria Sharapova.

I’d like to start by saying that like everyone else i was very shocked by the announcement however, after reading her statement many times and doing some proper research i now, more than ever support Maria, and i believe in her and believe this was simply a very unfortunate mistake and here’s why: (I’d like to point out that This is MY opinion i’m in no way trying to change yours… just wanted to express how im feeling over this.)

1. This is a drug that was just very very recently been banned and so as she had been taking for so long LEGALLY, it was overlooked and she or anyone probably never thought about the possibility of it being banned someday, but it was that a mistake. 2. I do however, believe it was reckless and irresponsible on Maria’s and her team’s behalf to not check the list but, its an honest mistake and it couldve happened to anyone, it shouldnt have but it did and we shouldnt put down people for their mistakes, everyone deserves a second chance. 3. This wasn’t a drug she had taken maliciously to help her tennis or athleticism, rather it was taken with her health in mind. If you make a simple google search on meldonium you’ll see that it is a drug with Multiple uses and the most common ones are heart diseases, diabetes, among others 4. Several other athletes have failed their respective drug test because of Meldonium proving once again it was an honest mistake and just like it happened to one of the most high profile athletes in the world it happened to others. 5. My final reason is the fact she came forward publicly, acknowledged her mistake and apologized, regardless if you say its “damege control” or whatever, she did it, and no athlete has ever done it and i believe Maria was being very honest and humble about it

I’d like to finish by saying that as many people in and outside the sport have pointed not just right now but throughout the years, is that Maria has always been known for her wonderful integrity and work ethic, and that’s one of the reasons i personally admire her, so her taking drugs to enhance her performance just dont fit in with her.

I hope that weather you are a fan or not, you’ll put yourself in her shoes and think about a mistake you’ve made and how you wish people has responded to it, she’s a human being like the rest of us and no human being deserves to be hated upon or get scrutinized over their mistakes. Hate just keeps rottening our world and our society invest your time in something positive and helpful I also believe the ITF will make the right decision and whatever that is i will accept it just like i know she will.

I stand with Maria today and always

Hi! I’m Chels and i’m a 21 year old Photographer from Perth, Western Australia.

From the age of 15 I have been relentless about photographing and following my dream of one day becoming a successful Live Music Photographer, in particular for @taylorswift. I have worked very hard and In result gained opportunities that have given me a chance to prove my creative skills.

On the 5th of February I ruptured my ACL in my left knee. On the 24th of February I had surgery to reconstruct my ACL. Currently i am recovering from this however unfortunately it has meant that I am now unable to work which means i’m unable to earn or save any money for new and better equipment. I’m working hard to speed up my recovery process but these injuries usually last up to 6 weeks before i can get back on my feet. I’m aiming to be off crutches in time for a massive event (Starting April 23rd) i’ve been booked for. I’m worried the equipment I’m using at the moment isn’t up to scratch with what they will expect from me. They have so much faith in me as a photographer and I really need to do the best job possible.

I’ve started a Go Fund Me campaign in hope to raise a little bit more money to go towards new equipment.

I’m not one to usually ask for help, and everything up until this moment I’ve earnt by myself but I honestly need some help this time.
