TIME FOR ME TO FLY → TimKara.
Tim was glad he had invested in a similar sort of tech that Dick used in his Nightwing mask. Having the ability to change his perspective in to whatever was needed, from night vision to infrared, really came in handy. While Batman had trained him and provided during his Robin days, there were other things he had to figure out to change on his own. Glancing around, he finally noticed one of the most cliche but best case options, an air vent. It was rather big, except certainly not big enough for him to be able to carry someone on his back as he crawled. Of course, it was big enough for him to place said person in while he fought off the bound to appear enemies.
The plan was piecing together nicely in his head when suddenly an unknown factor he hadn’t considered came into play: Kara waking up. One minute, the missing Kryptonian was in his arms, and the next, she was in front of him looking as if she hadn’t just woken up from an undermined amount of rest, “I-…. am impressed that you’re already standing,” he admitted, his posture shifting from his shock to his concern, “are you sure you should be doing that? You haven’t even seen the sun yet.” Tim rambled, pointing around in what he assumed to be the direction of the outside world, sun included.
Faintly, he heard what sounded like footsteps, voices, and metallic clinking which could only mean their time was slim. “We have to get out of here” he urged, taking steps backward toward the vent he had seen that wasn’t quite on the ground but could be accessible with the right steps up taken, “I don’t know how they caught you the first time, but I don’t think either of us want to find out if they have Kryptonite. Or worse. If there is a worse.”
Though it didn’t exactly answer her question, Kara felt a her pride inflate a little at his raised brow expression. Truth be told normally that would earn him a smile or her best attempt at a witty response but now she was too drained to force either. “I’m fine.” she said, already sounding a little less aggressive and more exhausted. She took a quick look around her surroundings. They were in a cave, a cave with thick walls so even if she did have the energy to break through she would risk having the cave loose it’s support and collapse into itself, before surely ending up hurting the man before her. Since he was obviously saving her, that wasn’t even an option.
Each footstep felt like a punch to her skull and she spoke up just as her rescuer did - clearly having the same thoughts. “We need to go.” she said, her voice clashing with his same statement and she had to see the amusement in their awkward exchange. As soon as he mentioned kryptonite Kara winced. She wasn’t accustomed to really true physical pain but here she was and she knew exactly why.“They definitely have it, but they’re not going to get a chance to use it.” she retorted. They were getting closer. They were coming for her. They hadn’t killed her yet, but in a way they had. They had stolen time. God knows who had suffered and been hurt in her absence. Harvesting that resentment, “I can’t break through any of these walls without risking collapsing the entire cave. I...” she felt stumped. She focused. Four heartbeats. One was stronger, definitely a meta of some sort. The other three she wouldn’t have an issue getting past but meta-humans were unpredictable and she had no idea what was waiting for them in a matter of seconds. “There’s three armed guards and a Metahuman, we just need to get past them.” She still felt an odd stiffness, even with her strength she needed time regain her energy - but time wasn’t exactly something they had to spare in the moment so she would do her best with what she had. “I need you to hold me.” she said in a rushed tone, ignoring the implications despite the context. “I need you to hold on to me as tight as you can okay? I don’t know what could come after us so I’m going to have to go fast... as fast as I can.”
