AT THE PEDESTRIAN CROSSING...
… when the lights are red, and there are no cars…
I used to be funny. I used to be clever. Now I am the french word for a shower. What should I do?
Maybe you should send some messages to people who run tumblrs that don't meet with your own personal standards? Or... I don't know. Stop demanding I be the thing you can't achieve? Or... LAST RESORT!! Die in a fire?
#privatejoke #yeah get off my case because my IQ would make yours look like a binary number - if you were lucky #enough already before the broadside from my capital ship like mind makes toothpicks of your canoe sized brain #ahahaha you make me laugh: because I imagine your mental inadequacies correspond to physical ones wink wink
YES, I REALLY DID MAKE THIS BENTO MYSELF
Not for the squeamish. You have been warned.
Want some?
NEW TO JAPAN? HERE'S HOW TO SURVIVE THE TRAINS.
"I take the piss out of myself more often than you’d think, despite what the name of the tumblr implies." Maybe change the name of the tumblr then? It started out clever and funny but then went grimace-inducing. Not to mention the Miyazaki retirement. Deep breaths, guy. If it's time to go, it's time to go.

ummm, no, that's kind of the point. You know, the self-absorbed ex-pat who complains all the time. I'm doing a whole kinda juxtaposition thing there, tongue in cheek, while actually being that person etc. etc. Works on many levels. Or so I'm told. I'm not actually that bright, so I may be listening to the wrong folks.
"Â went grimace-inducing..."
"Â Not to mention the Miyazaki retirement. "
Good reference, good point. He came back because he thought he had something more to say.
Deep breaths, guy. If it's time to go, it's time to go.
Yeah. Funny thing is, there's four more (probably shite) posts. If I have more ideas, they'll be up here. This was never a "SHIT LOOK AT ME I'M FUNNY" blog. And amusing myself has always been about the object and the subject in that concept.
I ain't here to dance for no-one else. Although if you're enjoying yourself, pull up a chair, tap that foot to the beat, and join in when you feel like it.
FINALLY THE BIG REVEAL... (I'm so, so sorry... you all thought I was British...)
fidius said: That describes essentially every school activity in every country.
Exactly - hence the meme choice. Hence the tags.
I take the piss out of myself more often than you'd think, despite what the name of the tumblr implies.Â
fidius said: No I mean I just read an essay about how school reading books do this & I’m a bit freaked out still.
Oh, OK. Sorry - like this one?

Just wonder if you are British or from the US?
It’s binary now? um, OK. 1.

If the TARDIS was made by the same builders that built my house. And it works in reverse in summer. It’s like a cruel trick. Or insane building practices. You be the judge.
lcgccx said: If running your heaters blows your circuit box, you should mention it to your landlord and get it fixed.
Well, I am exaggerating. That's something I like to do, like all the time. The circuit box tends to blow in the mornings when the air con is on, the heater in the bedroom is on, the microwave is fired up and then someone decides to blow dry their hair.Â
I did have a shouting match with my landlord about it in the street, but it just meant that my neighbours were confused as to why I was shouting at myself. Very Tyler Durden. Only a little softer around the edges.
agreeing with arudou debito on anything makes me feel icky.
I feel that. But that article is very rational... Up to a point. And that's when I went, "hang on", scrolled down and confirmed who the writer was. Personally, I don't think his less sane antics detract from the good bits in this piece. YMMV, s'cool.
I saw your post about the movie delay. I work in the film industry here. There are two very real reasons: #1, it's related to scheduling talent to come to Japan to promote the movie. #2 Many times Japan waits to see how the movie is doing world wide before deciding to bring it to Japan. All foreign films make up only a third of the market here. Look up Variety article "Japan Hollywood no longer dominates box office"
Ja jan! Yet more movie info. Thanks anon.

It's by Debito, but you wouldn't notice until near the end. (I think he does some good work some times but has a tendency to foam at the mouth a bit at others. But don't we all.)Â
Anyway, it's an interesting read, all about why the little things get to you when you're an expat.Â

Love that there is a flowchart for that conversation. Nice work!
OH HAI THERE
So I don't always get hate mail. Sometimes people say nice things too.
Thanks for that. If they're anonymous though, I won't be publishing them publicly because I feel that's a narcissistic step too far, even for me.
So, um, thanks again - I am listening.
Stay frosty.

Not to mention practically no snow at all. At least, not compared to Michigan.
Yeah, but when it snows it's like Atlanta - a bunch of folk not used to driving in the snow = abandoned cars on hills at wacky angles. Still, that hardly happens. Although I like the snow...
