* (He blinked. What a random question.)

“I like purple and green. Looks like we’ve got one of our favourite colours in common!” Mage chirps. “So… any chance you’re in the underground or are you on the surface?”
* (He shrugged.)
* I guess... The Underground. I haven't been on the surface in a long time and I intend to keep it that way.

* (Chara wondered how long it was going to take for his unwilling companion to take notice of him. So he kept quiet and followed right behind them, not like he had a choice in the matter. A strange force was pulling him along.)
* (The boy stared at the frightened Frisk, blinking back at them. He found this to be quite amusing and gave the child a small teasing smile.)
* …. What? Have you never seen a ghost before?
* Ghost? This didn’t look like any of the ghosts they’d seen before. Maybe they were trying to scare them? A small huff comes from Frisk’s lips as they turn and face the ‘ghost’. They really don’t have a right to argue, but they were going to do it anyway.
* “You don’t look like any ghosts I’ve seen…”
* (He stepped- or rather floated a couple spaces backwards. Chara crossed his arms and tilted his head sideways. He tried to guess how old they were, judging by the huff they couldn’t be any older than eight. What a baby.)
* Hm, maybe I’m not a ghost... Maybe I’m nothing at all. Maybe I’m just a figment of your imagination.
* (Chara laughed.)

* Well, Frisk is no stranger to being scared now. Even if they don’t show it clearly at first, this takes the cake in terms of horror. Frisk knew they were alone here, but looking in the puddle gave them chills.
* If they were alone, why is there someone behind them? As childish as it is, Frisk is scared to turn around and see that someone is truly there. Or… NOT truly there. Both are horrible, honestly. So instead, Frisk stays frozen, gaze locked onto the reflection.
* “Are you….?” Real? Friendly? Human? Too many words come to mind so the child simply falls silent.
