Maintaining My Body Shape Without Exercising
Alright, folks. Since some of you asked me about my diet tips and how I was able to be confident wearing a bikini, I am more than happy to share them with you. I am aware that summer has already ended but that shouldn’t stop you from being determined to lose some weight and be healthy. Drop your salted chips and read this.
DON’T STARVE YOURSELF
This is the very first thing I would like you to know. Make this a habit. Because of this crappy generation where girls try hard to be skinny like the models they idolize on Instagram – and Vogue magazine,they tend to starve themselves to death. Enduring hunger just to achieve that “perfect flat stomach and skinny legs” post on social media. Please, don’t starve yourself to lose weight. The overeating of bad food is what makes you to gain weight, not the idea of eating itself. You actually need to eat to burn those fats because your body will use these as an energy for an active metabolism. When you starve yourself, you’ll end up eating more at the end of the day, I guarantee you that.
SIX SMALL MEALS
Take six small meals throughout the day instead of taking three big ones. Like I said on the previous one, the longer you don’t eat, the hungrier you may get. You’ll just end up craving for something unhealthy.
TURMERIC TEA
A cup of tea makes everything better. This is my secret to a flat belly and a stronger immune system. Drinking this tea is one of the safest way to lose weight as long as you drink in moderation. I drink my turmeric tea twice a day – one in the morning and one in the evening. According to a new research, this helps you improve your health due to its several inflammatory properties. Since it belongs to the family of gingers, it has this thermogenic effect which accelerates the metabolism and help your body burn fat faster.
This is highly effective especially when paired with peppermint, ginger, and lemon. I got mine from Yamang Bukid. It comes with peppermint, lemongrass,ginger, banaba, lagundi, moringa, sambong, lemongrass, Cynura Procumbens and wild honey. All you need is just a cup of boiling water and a teaspoon of this mixed powder. I bought mine directly from their store but you can order online.
DROP THE WHITE RICE
The starchy white rice you eat is worse than your sugary drinks. It’s more potent in causing diabetes because it 0verloads your body with blood sugar. If you really can’t help because you’re a fan of Mang Inasal’s unli rice, add at least 20% brown rice.
EAT MORE RAW FRUITS AND VEGETABLES
My fridge is stuffed with fruits and vegetables – and an open bottle of Bordeaux of course. I’m a huge fan of vegetable salads especially when paired with grapes and tofu and all are soaked in apple cider vinegar (be careful on choosing your dressing because some are waistline busters). Note that fruits and vegetables are way cheaper than the food you order in fastfood restaurants. Healthier and money-saving at the same time – who wouldn’t want that?
WHEAT BREAD w/ PEANUT BUTTER
I don’t eat crackers or chips high in sodium. My alternative is a slice of wheat bread and a peanut butter. Oh yes, I’m a peanut butter eater. I sometimes bring a bottle with a spoon at school. Some experts recommend peanut butter for weight loss. Snacking on it is an effective way to control hunger without gaining weight because nuts help you curb your appetite and gives you the feeling of satiety or fullness.
NO SODA/FLAVORED JUICE
Don’t get fooled by those boxed juice you see on supermarkets. They’re flavoured and high in sugar. Don’t drink soda as well. I know you love to chug down that sparkling and sweet soda but it’s truly worthless to your body and a waste of money. It has no nutritional value, just plain sugar and high in calories. If you don’t want to develop Type 2 Diabetes and obesity, then you should probably stop now. Lastly, it is one of the main culprits on why you’re bloated right now. Hydrate yourself with lots of water, instead.
NO TO SLEEP DEPRIVATION
Having at least 8 hours of sleep can help to regulate hunger better unlike when you’re sleep deprived, you tend to crave more and regulate appetite in the middle of the night. Beauty sleep, folks.
YES TO PIZZA
Come on. Who can say no to pizza? (me when there’s pineapple).It’s a food for the gods. You can never eat vegetable salad while watching Netflix, it’s just not right. You need a break from your healthy lifestyle once in a while so it’s just fine. Go eat your pizza while I’m busy typing and talking to a Yellowcab representative about my Sriracha wings.
These are my tips and I hope you’ll do the same thing. I haven’t been working out for three months already and these habits were helpful and absolutely life-changing. But if you have time, please, work out for at least 15 minutes. Don’t do this just for the photos, or validation. Do this for your body and you’ll see the benefits in the long run. And my last advice, don’t be too healthy, always keep a balance.
