i am not planning on leaving tumblr!

HOWEVER

given what will be it’s inevitable implosion or slow death, it seems equally inevitable that we’ll all scatter on the wind to different platforms, and i really want a way that you all can keep up with my content and work without having to follow me to a platform that you’re not interested in.

so i was thinking about setting up a mailing list?

i figure everyone has email, so it’d be the easiest for people. i’d send out emails no more than once a week, and it’d contain links to whatever writing i’d posted that week, any progress report updates on any of my in progress projects (so even if i haven’t posted anything, you can know that i’m 10k into something and it’s coming soon for example) and what my update order looks like, since people ask about that a lot.

also maybe something fun, like a weekly horoscope or something.

does this sound like something you guys would be interested in?

Tumblr blocked the tag “chronic pain” in this mess for no reason

They’re flagging commonly used tags by queer people, sex educators, and artists who make their fucking LIVING on tumblr

They’re gonna take down genuine sex workers because they didn’t curb the problem with spamming porn bots YEARS ago when tumblr users REPORTED OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND *OVER* that it was a problem

Tumblr IGNORED the bots, IGNORED the problems, and honestly treated it like NOTHING until their app was taken off a store due to it.

They’re fucking over a shit-ton of REAL PEOPLE who rely on tumblr for community and/or income because they ignored users’ complaints about shitty porn bots for YEARS until it had financial consequences

I can no longer even talk about chronic pain without the post being blocked from searches

I have drawn one or two nude pieces on my art tumblr which is 99% safe for work but now I’m worried the blog will be taken down entirely because Tumblr won’t bother differentiating between spam and REAL PEOPLE just trying to live their goddamn lives

And god forbid I want to talk about bisexuality or sex or kink in just… MY LIFE. As a normal-ass human being who just wants to TALK ABOUT HUMAN THINGS

No, their solution to nuke a problem they’ve ignored for years is to take us all down at once

So maybe don’t laugh about “oh no not my pornz” because 1. plenty of that ~porn~ is made by actual humans making their living and 2. WAY MORE than “just porn” is being targeted

This along with Facebook continuously upholding white supremacy by letting nazi shit fly by while they ban people for speaking out against their oppressors and it’s basically like we’re running out of truly free places to just… BE

HEY, ROY/ED FANDOM

This is a long post, but please bear with me! ♥ And PLEASE REBLOG to help to spread the word! ♥♥♥ By now, probably all of you have heard about the fact that this garbagefire of a website has finally started to collapse.  In a lot of ways, I think it’s a good thing, but Tumblr had two things really had going for it:

it was one platform that different kinds of contributors could use for different kinds of content;

the vast majority of the fandom population used it as a home base.

This brings me to my primary fear: our ship’s amazing community may get scattered to the winds if everybody jumps ship in different directions.

This brings me to my suggested solution: I’m going to make a spreadsheet of alternate usernames and sites and accounts and destinations for members of the Roy/Ed fandom.  This way, we can at least all see where our longtime fandom friends are sharing their work!

HOW DO YOU GET IN ON THIS?  Easy peasy lemon thing!

Just copy and paste and then fill out the form below, with as few or as many accounts as you feel comfortable sharing.  Message it to me here, or on Twitter, or wherever you feel like, and I’ll add you to a Google Spreadsheet that will be publicly accessible, to help the Roy/Ed fandom to find each other on other platforms.

SAVING FACE (面子)

my mother prays for a high bridge because  the map of her face is too low  and everyone knows  nothing of import can come from  secluded places– my mother as a forest,  as a barrier.  there are things that we don’t talk about– too many things so  i line them up in a row and it makes a canyon,  no way to meet in the middle.  my mother as a wall,  as an open wound– i ask her, “where is the bleeding?” and there is no answer.  the silences between us say  more than she ever could.
