this is so so cute! what can you tell us about itty bitty tony? how do the kids react to him being trans? (and also does he have a stuffed tony the tiger bc i need that in my life.)

To be honest, I haven’t worked out any of Tony’s storyline yet, mainly because the comic timeline is still stuck way back in first season. I’ll have to do some research so I don’t completely mess that up, but as always, suggestions are open!

How do you think Orphan Black has impacted society?

I have always considered the strength of the science fiction and fantasy genres to be their ability to frame issues in a way that is accessible and entertaining to a general audience. I think Orphan Black addresses several very important social and ethical questions that are extremely relevant to current events. Even though the viewer is not necessarily consuming media consciously and critically, they still pick up on these issues as they empathize with the characters on-screen. Orphan Black starts a discussion, which I think is one of the best things that pop culture can do. Plus, it is overall just a beautiful show and the world is better for its existence.

You know, the more I re-read the comic, the more I pick up on things I didn't notice before, and the more awesome it becomes. You did a great job with this one, all the kudos in the world to you.

I planned and drew this first issue over about a month, so I’m glad that my jokes make sense when you look at them closely! I tried to tie everything in to moments from the show, but it’s hard to stay objective or know whether a certain line is or isn’t too obscure.

(Also it’s great and weird to know that at least one person is reading the comic multiple times? That’s awesome!)

A trio of perfects? Perfect! I can’t take all the credit for the smile, though. I am 99 percent certain that the kids at Dyad are just as happy to see you as you are to see them.

(The one percent remaining is Sarah and Paul, who are almost always grouchy, but you can’t win them all.)

dunhamandtyler and maggiechensfriend suggested toys for Sarah and Helena, so in the Christmas spirit, here's the rest of the Clone Club favorites: Alison's felt angel, Cosima's plush flu bug microbe, and Beth's Nerf gun.

And as for the rest of the kids at Dyad Preschool? Well, don't tell anyone but Delphine is just a tiny bit spoiled and she's got a puppy at home.

Haha, there was a lot of effort put into the cuteness factor. On the subject of updates, it’s unlikely that I’m going to be doing another “issue” of the original length anytime soon unless I come up with a brilliant theme. I am, however, totally open to doing shorter cartoons askblog style as people submit questions or ideas.

I don’t have a solid continuity in mind, so Helena’s guardian is as of now unknown, even to me. Maybe we’ll find out later, or if anyone has ideas, submit them to my ask!
