You should totally write a smau where class 1a or whatever grade they are it doesn't matter. Like where mina notices the hickeys and bruises on you when you were changing in the locker room but they arent from abuse, just from handsy izuku and like she sends texts to the class and they are all avoiding Midoriya and coddling u until they find out that youre okay! But u dont have to do this just a suggestion!!✌🏿😗
AHHH this is such a fun idea 😭 thank you sm for sending it in!! I had way too much fun writing this one. I really hope I did it justice
enjoy^^ (also just realized i spelt ochaco and iida's names wrong in the texts but im too lazy to change and screenshot everything again so pls ignore tht)
in which Mina notices something she probably shouldn't have and Class 1-A takes it upon themselves to "help."
TW: Brief references to bruising
By the time you left Gym Gamma, the sun had already set.
You'd completely lost track of time.
Your shoulders ached, your legs felt like they'd give out at any second, and your stomach was already complaining about the dinner you'd unintentionally skipped.
"...Worth it," you mumbled to yourself.
After weeks of getting nowhere, you'd finally managed to make some real progress on your ultimate move.
You smiled to yourself as you adjusted your bag and started the walk back to Heights Alliance.
Your phone buzzed somewhere inside your shoulder bag but you ignored it.
If it was important, you'd look after your shower.
By the time your head hit the pillow, your phone was still buried completely forgotten at the bottom of your bag.
You barely managed to stifle a yawn as you nudged the classroom door open with your shoulder, your bag threatening to slide off your arm.
conversation carried on until they noticed you and almost all at once, you felt twenty pairs of eyes staring back at you.
Before you had a chance to question it-
Iida shot to his feet, one arm slicing into the air in his usual chopping salute.
The force of it nearly sent his chair skidding backwards.
"I TRUST YOU HAD A RESTFUL EVENING!"
He nodded once, perfectly satisfied, before sitting back down as if nothing had happened.
You stared at him for a second.
That was... more enthusiastic than usual.
Before you could think too much about it, Ochaco hurried over.
She wrapped you in a quick hug, nearly knocking you off balance before pulling away with her usual bright smile.
"You trained really late yesterday, right?" she asked, smoothing out the sleeve of your blazer. "You must be exhausted."
Before you could shift your bag back onto your shoulder, she'd already slipped it from your grasp.
She looked over her shoulder innocently. "What?"
"I know!" she said cheerfully, hugging it to her chest like it belonged to her.
"...Then why are you carrying it?"
She only smiled a little wider.
Ochaco set your bag beside your desk with a satisfied smile before finally returning to her own seat.
You shook your head, smiling to yourself as you pulled your chair out.
The classroom door slid open again.
You looked up instinctively.
A smile found its way onto your face.
He smiled back, shutting the door behind him.
Normally, his greeting would've been met with a chorus of replies.
Instead... only a few quiet murmurs echoed around the room before the classroom fell silent again.
Izuku's smile faltered ever so slightly.
His green eyes flickered around the room before settling on you for a brief moment.
"...Did I miss something?"
Mina answered a little too quickly.
Izuku let out a small, uncertain laugh, rubbing the back of his neck.
Still looking a little confused, he made his way over to his desk.
You watched him for a second before looking around the classroom.
Everyone had practically rolled out the red carpet for you.
Now it was so quiet you could hear chairs scraping against the floor.
Before you could dwell on it any longer, the classroom door slid open once more.
Aizawa shuffled inside, his yellow sleeping bag tucked beneath one arm, looking as though he'd rather be anywhere else.
"Good morning, Aizawa-sensei!" the class chorused.
He dropped his sleeping bag beside his desk before pulling a stack of papers from beneath his arm.
"Couple of announcements."
You reached for your notebook out of habit.
Normally, you'd be listening.
Your thoughts kept drifting back to the strange welcome you'd received.
To the way everyone had gone oddly quiet the second Izuku walked in.
You absentmindedly twirled your pencil between your fingers as Aizawa continued talking, only catching the occasional "...training schedule..." and "...homework..."
Every so often, you'd glance up.
Mina was whispering something to Hagakure.
Kirishima looked over his shoulder.
The moment your eyes met He looked away.
Even Iida glanced over once before returning his attention to Aizawa.
Okay, something was definitely going on.
The rest of the day didn't get any less strange. If anything it only got weirder
Sero somehow ended up carrying a stack of your books for half the walk to Lunch before you realized it was missing.
Momo had already paid for your lunch by the time you reached the register.
Tsu quietly left an extra carton of juice beside your tray without another word.
Denki tried insisting on charging your phone despite it being almost fully charged.
Mina complimented everything from your hair to your shoes, somehow finding a new excuse to stop and check on you every time she passed.
Even Todoroki stopped beside your desk between classes, quietly asked if you were alright, then walked away before you had the chance to ask why.
By the end of the afternoon, you'd started expecting something strange to happen every time you stepped into the hallway.
Sure enough-
turning the corner, you accidentally bumped shoulders with Katsuki.
The impact wasn't hard, but it was enough to make you stumble back half a step.
You instinctively braced yourself. "...Sorry."
He glanced at you from the corner of his eye, his expression unreadable.
His voice came out gruff, carrying its usual edge but noticeably lacking the bite you were expecting. "Tch...Watch where you're going."
Then he turned and kept walking
You stood there, watching him disappear down the corridor with your mouth slightly agape.
He didn't yell, he didn't call you an idiot or a dumbass.
Was Katsuki feeling okay...?
Near the end of the day, you'd come to one very important conclusion.
Everyone had collectively lost their minds.
The final bell echoed through the classroom.
Almost instantly, chairs scraped against the floor as everyone began packing their bags.
You were already zipping your backpack shut before Aizawa had even finished dismissing the class.
You slipped out of the classroom as quickly as you could, weaving through the students already filing into the hallway.
Every so often, you found yourself glancing over your shoulder to make sure nobody was following you.
Just as you rounded the corner, a familiar head of messy green curls caught your eye.
He turned at the sound of your voice and the he moment he saw you, his expression softened.
"Hey."
He offered you a small smile.
It was the same soft smile he always wore around you.
Only it didn't quite reach his eyes.
You slowed to a stop in front of him, studying his face for a moment. "...You okay?"
"You look..." You hesitated, searching for the right word. "...off."
His smile faded into something smaller "...Do I?"
One hand instinctively found the back of his neck as he let out a quiet sigh.
"...Today's just been... really weird."
Your brows pinched together. "Weird how?"
He looked down at the floor for a moment before meeting your eyes again. "It felt like everyone was avoiding me."
His shoulders lifted in a small shrug. "I kept wondering if I'd accidentally upset someone or forgot someone's birthday."
"Iida barely spoke to me today."
He let out a small, awkward laugh.
"Mina wouldn't even look at me, and when I asked Denki if he wanted to study after class..." He rubbed the back of his neck again. "He told me he was busy."
You blinked. "That is a bit weird..."
"I mean..." You folded your arms. "He practically lives off copying your notes."
A tiny laugh escaped him.
For the first time all afternoon, he looked just a little less worried.
"My day's been weird too."
"But, " You frowned. "It was the complete opposite to yours."
"Everyone's been..." You searched for the right word. "Overly nice."
"Momo bought my lunch, Sero somehow ended up carrying a stack of my books, Denki tried insisting on charging my phone even though it was almost full."
A smile tugged at the corner of Izuku's mouth.
"...That sounds like something he'd do."
"Mina complimented me every chance she got, and Todoroki randomly came up to me in class just to ask if I was okay."
You paused. "Even Katsuki didn't yell at me."
Izuku's eyebrows shot up.
"I accidentally bumped into him, and all he said was..." You lowered your voice into your best Bakugo impression. "'Tch... Watch where you're going.'"
Izuku stared at you."...Okay, that one's definitely weird."
The two of you stood there in silence for a moment.
Neither of you seemed to have an explanation.
"Maybe we're overthinking it..?" Izuku offered.
"...No." You shook your head. "Something's definitely going on."
Another quiet pause settled between you.
A thought suddenly crossed your mind.
"In the class group chat."
You shrugged. "If they're acting weird around us in person maybe they'll actually answer online."
He thought about it for a moment before nodding.
"That's actually not a bad idea!"
"And..." You pointed at him. "You should talk to them too."
"You've been worrying about this all day, if something's wrong, they'll tell you."
He smiled sheepishly. "...I hope so."
"You won't know unless you ask."
A soft laugh escaped him. "Yeah, I guess you're right."
You reached over, gently threading your fingers through his.
His hand instinctively squeezed yours in return.
You leaned up just enough to steal a quick kiss.
When you pulled away, the corners of his ears had already begun turning pink.
He watched you for another second before finally heading toward the dorms, the smallest smile lingering on his face.
With one last smile, the two of you headed off in opposite directions.
Little did either of you know...
Just around the corner, a small group of your classmates had witnessed the entire exchange.
Mina groaned, her shoulders slumping.
"They're still talking to each other?"
Ochaco frowned. "She looked...happy?"
Denki rubbed the back of his neck. "Guys...I feel kinda bad."
Kirishima sighed. "This doesn't feel very manly anymore..."
"I did recommend speaking to Midoriya before making assumptions," Momo reminded them quietly. "It would've been the more logical course of action."
A silence settled over the group.
Shoto's gaze lingered on the now empty hallway.
"Something doesn't make sense."
"If Midoriya was hurting her..." He paused, thinking his words through. "...Why would she be the one comforting him?"
Nobody had an answer to that.
Iida adjusted his glasses with a sharp push.
"It is also highly inappropriate to spy on our classmates."
He leaned ever so slightly around the corner.
"Under the present circumstances..."
"...I suppose one more minute would not hurt."
A quiet snicker escaped Denki.
Iida immediately looked over.
"You folded in, like, three seconds."
"I am merely gathering additional information."
Mina let out a quiet snort. "Sure you are."
Despite herself, Momo smiled into her sleeve.
Ochaco's smile, however, quickly faded.
Everyone looked towards her.
"...There's a chance we got this all wrong?"
Nobody rushed to answer and all that followed was just silence.
The confidence they'd all shared the night before suddenly didn't feel quite so certain anymore.
So that was my first smau hope yall liked it^^
also everyone else that sent a request pls know im working on them and they will be done in a few day time!!!
