Poem by L. Mantis titled "My coworker asks who's the man"
Susan, are you asking me who buys the flowers and who wears the dress? Or are you wondering who feels like they're allowed to be soft, and who thinks they have to hide their feelings? Or did you mean, who pays for the dates, and who pays to groom themself? Are you asking for permission? Are you asking me to remind you that flowers bloom in every direction, wherever they find sun?

The Kitchen Entity came crawling out of the oven vent, and now it just hovers here in the middle of the room, like some kind of domesticated jellyfish. When you turn on the microwave, it crackles like a geiger counter. On warm days, it smells like mom's special m&m pancakes.
a very short poem for august (s.r.m.)
Cabin baby quilt is done!
This quilt is for the child of some of my friends who have invited me on many winter cabin trips! So I made it outdoor themed for their little explorer.
The tree blocks are machine pieced based on a block from Wise Craft Quilts by Blair Stocker. The stars and cabin are self drafted and English paper pieced. The bulk of the quilting is machine but I did do some big stitch accents for fun.
I’m very happy with it, and tomorrow I get to deliver it and meet the baby!

what doesn’t kill you makes your nervous system more sensitive for the rest of your life
The fastest way to accomplish The Project is to cease being afraid of The Project. The Project cannot maim you. The Project cannot kill you. The Project is more afraid of you than you are of it. It is okay if The Project turns out differently from how it was in your head, and it is okay if it has flaws. You are capable of engaging with The Project.
parents will be like “you’ve changed” and it’s just you started doing the things that make you comfortable that you always wanted to do but was too scared to express your wants and needs

I made two flip books for the tiny publishing house cacahuete editions.
a book should be $5 a little drink should be $2 and museum access should be free and all hours
