Ivan grinned innocently at Jimi and then crossed his arms. “FINE. I’ll make you another chicken pie because I’m a nice person not because I ate the first one and feel guilty about it. That never happened.”

Evie was having such a lovely time. Loved being around Venus more than she could imagine and loved seeing her friends. Even fighting with Molly was fun, but she’d never admit it. All the dancing made her hungry and she liked to keep her full if she was drinking so she didn’t get too messy. She grabbed an hors d’ouervre to enjoy and a few for Ven when someone spoke to her. Her eyes lit up at Ivan, and her mind ran to Lily. “I bet it is a good day for you!” Evie grinned and faced him properly. “First Valentine’s not alone?” She asked, squealing excitedly and bending her knees, only to shoot up so happily. “Lily told me you two are going out. And I’m so happy for her and for you. And you make her so fucking happy, Ivan. I’ve been meaning to find you one of these days to tell you I’m happy that you make her happy. It shows. And I guess she makes you happy, too! Considering you’re loving this day so much and all!”

Ivan grinned at the other, recognising the girl as one of Lily’s friends even though they’d never actually spoken before. Lily had a lot of excited friends and it was terrifying. “Yeah, it is! Normally I scare people off instead of schmoozing them so I don’t know what I did this time but it worked.” He laughed and then smiled fondly, his entire face lighting up at the thought of Lily. “She makes me happy too. It feels dumb that she makes me smile whenever I think of her but people you like should make you smile. Are you here with anyone tonight?”

“You’re right, pizza is all I need.” Ivan laughed and kissed Lily on the nose, a stupid smile appearing on his lips. “Although... what if they have FREE pizza there? As well as free alcohol?”

This was probably the first time in Ivan’s life that he had spent a Valentine’s Day with a girl and he was having the time of his life. The past eighteen years of his life he thought the day was fairly pointless but today he was having fun. And the world needed to know. He was finally taking a break from dancing, realising he was a little peckish so he headed over to the food table and grabbed whatever he could find, then grinned stupidly at the person next to him. “You know what I’ve discovered today? Valentine’s Day is actually a pretty good day!”

“No. I don’t even like chicken pies.” His eyes widened as he wiped his mouth to make sure there were no crumbs and then grinned innocently at his roommate. “I love you?”

This was the best feeling in the world. Ivan didn’t realise that a girl could make him feel like flying but here he was, fairly sure that he was floating on a cloud with Lily. “They’d BETTER be jealous! I expect everyone to hate me for being able to date you.” A laugh left his lips and he took her hands and squeezed them. “I’ll only snog pizza when you’re not around. Did you want to go to this Valentine’s Party with me? If it’s lame we could just leave and eat pizza instead.”

instantly lily felt the weight of the world float off her shoulders as she leaned into him and up on her toes to kiss him better. she certainly hadn’t expected all of this to stem from one new year’s kiss. pulling back she let out a quiet laugh, leaning up to press her forehead against his, ‘is that what people do? you know, usually i’d say yes because that sounds like a dream but i want to go out and flaunt to the world about how i’m allowed to kiss you and they’re not.’

Ivan felt as though he was going to be smiling for the rest of his life now. Luck didn’t often come his way when he came to relationships but he just CLICKED with Lily. “You can flaunt me as well because I’d like to do the same. Everyone needs to know that I’m the only one allowed to kiss the prettiest girl in the world. I’ll have to tell pizza we’re breaking up!”

lily giggled softly, pulling at his hands to uncover his face before letting her own arms wrap around him and pull him as close as humanly possible. ‘yes, oh my goodness. what are you waiting for? kiss me, you fool!’

She was so cute that Ivan didn’t know how he’d managed to resist after all this time. As his hands were pulled back, a small laugh left his lips and he finally leaned in to kiss her, deciding this was much better than their fuzzy drunken New Year kiss. “I feel like we should go on a proper date. Is that what people do? Is eating pizza in my room acceptable?”

‘of course it’s because you’re cute and blonde.’ lily scrunched her nose before dropping her head to nod. but at his laugh, she took a sigh of relief because he didn’t look angry at all. and she really thought someone would’ve been angry! ‘uh, yeah. i’m the quidditch playing girl. wait, you’re not angry? really not angry?’

Ivan grinned and then put his hands over his face, looking somewhat embarrassed now. How did he not realise he was seeing the same person as his brother? “Why would I be angry? This is just funny. I didn’t even realise we had the same taste in girls.” With a laugh, he swept the redhead up in his arms and gave her a warm hug. “Do I get to kiss you now? Because I was pretty drunk the last time.”

‘no, silly. i choose you.’ she said holding the pokeball in the palm of his hand with a silly smile. ‘get it? because pokemon. i’m ash, you’re my pikachu. now let me take a peek at you. i’m kidding, i’m just being hilarious. maybe later… definitely later.’ she rambled on but shook her head. ‘no well, yes. the pizza thing but also… i was sort of dating your brother too until this morning. because tavi was setting me up with a krum and i guess she meant miro but i thought she meant you and it got confusing but i had to make a decision and i choose you. i like you, not in like a let’s get married right this second or anything, but i do. i want to see a lot more of you.’

Ivan looked confused for a few seconds as he stared at the Pokeball before the grin slipped back onto his face and he laughed. “I’M Pikachu? Is it because I’m cute and blonde?” As Lily rambled, he could feel his cheeks beginning to turn pink but before he even that time to make a comment, the subject was being changed and Lily was still talking. “Wait... so you’re the Quidditch playing girl my brother was telling me about?” He actually laughed because the situation was so ridiculous he felt like he was in a movie. “Miro and I were seeing the same person? That’s funny.”

“Oh hi there,” Henrik scratched the kitty’s head, smiling brightly at her. “She seems to like people so maybe she just managed to sneak out?” he mused and took a step back so that the other wouldn’t be too close to her. “oh that’s so terrible! I can’t imagine being allergic to cats, I’d cry myself to sleep every night probably.”

Ivan shrugged and stared at the cat, then smiled at the sight of the other’s bright grin. “Yeah, she probably just wanted to explore the university. Or maybe she was sneaking out to meet her true love. We’ll never know.” He laughed Henrik’s dramatics because honestly the fact that he was somewhat allergic to cats DID make him sad as he adored them. “I feel like I should cry myself to sleep because they’re adorable animals yet I can’t be near them without sneezing.”

‘ivan!’ lily called out, taking a big bite of the pizza she’d obviously bought for him as she ran over to meet him. she took him by the arm and pulled him into an empty classroom, handing him the now half eaten slice of pizza and a little pokeball with the other hand. ‘i’ve got something to confess. i don’t know how you’ll take it, hell, i barely know how to say it.’

A stupidly wide grin appeared on his face as Ivan heard Lily call out to him. He barely even had time to turn around let alone speak as he was dragged into an empty classroom and handed a half-eaten piece of pizza and a pokeball, both items confusing him but he shrugged it off as he bit into the pizza. “If your confession is that you bought a pizza for me and ate all of it except this half slice then I’ll recover. Don’t worry.”

“I will always remind you.” He said with a laugh. “Oi, look at you. That’s pretty damn adorable. She must be really special.” Miro ran a hand through his hair. “As for my girl. She’s a quidditch player, sharp as all get out, beautiful and one of the nicest girls. Tavi set us up so clearly she has good taste in friends as well.”

“She is pretty special. All we’ve done is each pizza together but I’d like to think it could be something great.” He grinned somewhat goofily and then shrugged. “A Quidditch player being the most important part, yeah?” he teased. “Honestly, I couldn’t imagine you dating anyone who couldn’t play Quidditch.

lily grinned so widely as he understood her pun, even if was something as simple as a pun, it made her feel nice and warm. like for a millisecond they were actually just a boy and a girl and not their names, not their history or anything in between. she actually loved how ivan made her feel. a laugh bubble out of her lips at his story, scrunching her nose as she tried to imagine it. ‘oh merlin. i can’t imagine what mum and dad would do if one of us wasn’t good at quidditch. albeit james… sort of sucks but not that bad. okay, fine. we’ll keep your feet on the ground at all times, okay? no need to get our heads stuck in the clouds when there’s so much to do down here.’ she smiled, taking out a piece of pizza and giving one to him and grabbing one for herself. ‘geez, you’re whipped. if the pizza said jump off a cliff, would you do that too?’

Lily looked so adorable as she laughed and scrunched up her nose that Ivan literally had to peel his eyes away from her so he wouldn’t end up staring at her. Would staring at her be weird? It wasn’t his fault he liked looking at pretty girls. “Isn’t James the Quidditch captain?” He shrugged because he didn’t actually know what classified as good Quidditch playing but he was fairly sure that Lily was excellent either way. “I think I’m safest when I’m sat down although I’m sure I would still be able to find a way to injure myself just sitting here. Knowing my luck I’ll get a papercut on the pizza box or break my teeth on the crust.” He laughed sheepishly as he accepted the pizza slice, moaning in satisfaction as he swallowed. “I would do anything for my love. Including jumping off a cliff.”
