The last free-roaming pack of Wild Dogs are found in the Waterberg. They travel across great distances and many farms and belong to none. They have been collared and are being monitored by the EWT.
Viewing of the Wild Dogs is subject to location and landowner’s permission. Proceeds go to the landowner and surrounding landowners in compensation for losses incurred, to give the dogs safe passage and keep the pack free from persecution within the Waterberg Biosphere.
It just so happens that the pack split into two ... and the smaller pack is now denning down the road from us. Which is very exciting! Thabo Lesodi is a hunting farm but in the interests of the conservation of this endangered species, they are happy to be 'hosting' the dogs at this time (bearing in mind the amount of game likely to be taken down by the dogs who will, when the pups are old enough, be regurgitating some of this at the den to feed the pups).
If you would like to book a drive to the den with them, their number is on their poster below.
