Ivy! Where the hell have you been?
Ah, yes. Not much of a surprise there, huh?
Hey! Â Um, just in my room, around. Â You know. Â Where've you been?
Not really, think the whole place's been expecting it for a while.

The Americans have turned a sacred festival into a novelty act… the world really is going to hell, isn’t it? Surely respect can come in many forms though… despite no one actually wishing to celebrate the dead… their minds are more set on the candy. Plus, the mere idea of death gives many the chills.
I’ve never really participated in it.
If count its going to hell a while ago, yeah. Â Don't really remember Halloween ever bein' this sacred thing. Â Thought the Mexicans did it -- the Day of the Dead.
Don't really think so... I mean, with all the different afterlives and everything. Â More people'd rather think they're loved ones go some place, an' are in peace. Â Might just be me, though.
You've never dressed up?
I guess I'm twenty today.
And engaged… Huh. Funny how much can change in a year.
Happyyy birthday!
Clyde, I hope?

i know you love it when the hairpins start to drop i like your reckoning, but we got our methods and there's nothing here to stop, to stop this
Why do we dress as the dead for Halloween, when Halloween is a celebration of the dead? A showing of respect?
I think it's more of a fun thing, really. Â Like, not a respect thing 'cause Halloween stopped being... respectful a while ago -- the commercial America thing and stuff, you know? Â
Also, dressing up as the dead's way more fun. Â
It was a dark room, not many walls, too many people, tall men with no voices - a terribly terribly odd place. I did not like it much. Ah, what do you mean a rabbit hole…oh… like Alice?  Is that a good thing?
That doesn't sound so fun... here'll be better, I think. Â Yeah, exactly like Alice. Â Um, what'd you think? Â It was more Tim Burton, right? Â 'Cause I didn't like that one much... maybe if it was more cartoon-y, more Disney.
Maybe not cold t’you but definitely cold for me.
Rude.
Where're you from? Â S'probably not helping anything... like, not at all.
It’s starting to get real cold outside, shit.
Positive? Â This is nothing.
This is very different from the last place I woke up, incredibly different indeed!
What was the last one like? Â You kinda sound like you crawls outta... the rabbit hole or something.

I like it very much actually. It’s small, quaint, safe.Â
Kinda like every other small town, minus the one's built on Indian reservations -- you know, those scary movie ones.
What's your name? Â I'm Ivy.
Mmhmm. I arrived just a few days ago.
D'you like it so far?
I guess I’ll check it out. I just hope someone didn’t decide to keep it for themselves.
Yes, something like that.
Probably not. Â S'probably just right under your nose.
Right. Â So you're new, yeah?
I had it with me when I went into town.
Yes, I usually keep it on me, but I just wrote things I’m not comfortable… speaking.
You stop by the diner? Â 'Cause I think they have like, this lost and found drop box-thing.
Yeah, I get that. Â Your little... something. Â Like the journal I keep in my room, or the book you highlighted over and scribbled in. Â Right?
It’s green with just a strap on the front to keep it closed. And, um, I guess it has more of a Moleskine appeal?
Yeah. Â Where'd you last see it?
S'it a... big deal or anything? Â Like, something you always keep with you?
Has anyone seen a journal lying about? I’m not sure if it’s just stolen or lost, but if you have seen it, please return it to me.
What does it look like? Â Like, it is one of those with the marbled covers... or, uh, is it one of those moleskin seeming one? Â Have anything on its front cover or anything?
