I'm very fond of the idea that Maki – in contrast to Yuuta or Panda who fully embrace it – actively tries to stop herself from getting Toge's onigiri words tangled up in her own vocabulary. She claims it's because it just sounds dumb coming from someone who isn't a cursed speech user, but in reality she is thoughtful enough to not want to trample on the little comfort Toge finds in these safe words that keep him from cursing others.
That doesn't mean that she remains immune to the constant and subtle influence of Toge's way of communication though, and every now and then – mostly when she is distracted or not in full control of her emotions – they will slip.
She stubbornly refuses to admit it every single time.
