Happy 30th birthday Erin @lizzielulu114. I'm so happy you decided to "crash" my solo trip to Sedona last week. Dirt, sunshine, miles, food and conversation. I think we both needed that more than we even knew. Wishing you health, happiness, adventure and clarity in this next year. Cheers to internet friends becoming real life friends!
Winter is kinda ok sometimes.
It actually feels a little like December in MN today.
Beautiful, foggy morning for a run at the lake.

I was going through the photos on my three year olds camera today, for the first time, and I found this...
Got my super cozy hoodie from @a-yogi-who-wods today. It’s finally cold enough here to wear it. Yay!

Another day another run, and another sign of climate change. Usually at this point in November, all the Canadian Geese would have migrated south. Because it is still so warm here (mid 60's today) they are still hanging around. I'm sure you're wondering why I care? Well, if you've never had to run past a gaggle before, they're not the friendliest of trail occupants. They hiss and snap and leave little turd bombs all over the trail. So yeah, I'm ready for them to continue onwards. 3 min warm up 3 miles 2:1 run/walk intervals 3 min cool down
I have so many thoughts and feelings about what transpired in my country in the last 24 hours. But I'm not quite ready to talk about it yet. I will just say this, I will continue to fight for equal rights for every citizen in this country, regardless of race, religion, economic status or sexual orientation. I will leverage my white, middle class privilege, as much as I can, to make this a better world for our children to grow up in. Love will always trump hate. So on that note, I ran today. And it sucked. And it's going to continue to suck until I can get some of this weight off me, so I have to keep doing it even when I don't want to. 3 minute warm/up 30 minutes 2:1 run/walk intervals 3 minute cool down
This one was harder than it should have been, but at least it's done. I've been letting myself think that I am not strong. I've been giving myself a pass since my son was born. Telling myself that I got fat while I was pregnant and there's nothing I can do about it. That no matter how hard I try it will never be enough. But what I forgot, is that I having this amazing ability to move past things. Toxic friendships, bad relationships, stressful situations etc. I just pick myself up and move on. I guess I would call myself resilient. So it's time to change the internal monologue. I need to think about my strength, my grit, my resiliency and stop talking myself out of all of the amazing things I am capable of achieving. So I'm starting small. I'm going to track my food on the daily for a little while so I can't hide from the truth. I've written out when I can work out this week and what my workouts will be. I'll follow Sab's plan and stop hiding from her. Ok? Ok. Let's do this.
I ran in a tank top on November 3rd in Minnesota. What is this sorcery? 8.42 miles.
It's your right. Exercise it.
Closed out October with just over 1600 miles on the year. With only two months to go, it's gonna be a close one.
Some days you just have to be happy about the things you can control. So here are two of my favorite things: new chucks and fall.
My husband and I drove up to Duluth yesterday to go to a concert. We saw Halestorm with Lita Ford and Dorothy as the opening acts.
All 3 bands were awesome, but Lzzy Hale was amazing. That girl is an incredible performer. The venue was really small which of course made for an up close, more intimate experience.
We spent the night in a hotel right next to canal park. I woke up early to get a few shots of the sunrise over Lake Superior. An unexpected bonus was seeing a few orionids still streaking across the pink, dawn sky.
After breakfast, we drove an hour north to Silver Bay and hiked around Black Beach. We had the place completely to ourselves.
Back to work tomorrow to prep for a corporate visit on Thursday 🙄 and still maintain some semblance of balance and sanity.
