“Today, I’m standing here, and for all of you, I am unable to do anything at all. For that, I feel very ashamed. You all must have hope and continue to work hard. But don’t forget, we still wish to return to our homeland. At this moment, we have family members waiting for us. So please don’t lose hope. Please don’t ever give up. We will reclaim which has been taken from us”.

True Romance
Have everyone seen this picture of the Danish cop playing games with a little Syrian refrugee on her way to Sweden?
ok? and?
This child has suffered in a country filled with terror, managed to escape and then walked and traveled her way from one continent to another. This is a child in the mids of terror and hatred. Her people have been kicked and spit at. She is a child who have not been allowed to be a child. She is a victim of a war she can’t controll. And then she arrives at the other side of the world, and someone finally treats her like a child. Who see her and play with her and give her some comic relief in the mids of the most traumatic experince of her life, in a country where no one speaks her language and it is so much colder than what she has known. In the mids of war and terror we forget that kids are still kids, and this police officer on the other side of the world reminds us that they are indeed children. Don’t come here and “and?” me!
Exclusive Preview: James McAvoy in M. Night Shyamalan’s Split
By David Grove
on October 19, 2016
“I wanted to break genres with this film,” says writer-director M. Night Shyamalan of the psychological horror film Split, which will be released in January 2017. James McAvoy stars as Kevin, a man with over twenty different personalities, one of which, a personality called “The Beast,” pushes Kevin to kidnap and imprison three teenage girls. “I approached this role as if I wasn’t playing just Kevin but nine different people,” says McAvoy, referring to the nine personalities featured in the film. “In a way, this is like nine different movies in one.”
During one of their therapy sessions, Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley) tries to help Kevin figure out who he really is. “She tries to narrow the list of personalities living inside Kevin into one person,” says Buckley, best known, to genre audiences, for her performance in the film Carrie.
Dr. Fletcher discovers that making house calls can be deadly, when you don’t know who you’re dealing with.
Writer-director M. Night Shyamalan and James McAvoy discuss a scene from Split, which was filmed, in the fall of 2015, in Pennsylvania. “Night is one of the best filmmakers I’ve ever worked with,” says McAvoy. “He draws the entire film, and then he executes his vision.”
The three kidnapped girls, who are led by the feisty and resourceful Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy), dread the arrival of the Beast, as they are trapped in Kevin’s basement. “Some of the personalities are sympathetic toward them, and some aren’t,” says Shyamalan. “The girls hear about the Beast, and they don’t want to see him.”
The interior of Kevin’s house, especially his basement, provides a window into his troubled psyche. “It’s a claustrophobic, sad place,” says McAvoy.
Who is the real Kevin? “I’m not really sure,” says McAvoy. “There are so many personalities, and Kevin is just one of them. We only meet Kevin in the film for about ninety seconds.”
The role of Kevin proved demanding but stimulating for McAvoy. “When I first spoke with Night,” says McAvoy, “he told me to keep an open mind, and prepare for something really weird.”
Casey looks for a way out of Kevin’s mind. “She [Casey] was with the other two girls, who were the Beast’s main targets,” says McAvoy. “She’s very strong, and she tries to exploit Kevin’s personalities to help her and her friends escape. She’s a threat to the Beast.”
Audiences can be never sure who Kevin is at any point in time. “Kevin believes that his body changes through his different personalities,” says Kevin. “There’s a community of personalities living inside Kevin.”

“.. My past has tasted bitter for years now, So I wield an iron fist Grace is just weakness Or so I’ve been told. I’ve been cold, I’ve been merciless But the blood on my hands scares me to death Maybe I’m waking up today I’ll be good, I’ll be good And I’ll love the world, like I should.”
