— After murdering five people, Andrew Cunanan was listed as a serial killer and searched for by the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation).
— On July 23, Andrew’s body was found in a luxury houseboat in Miami Beach, after a caretaker reported to police of hearing a gunshot. How Did Andrew Kill His Victims?
— Giovanni “Gianni” Versace was murdered around 8:35 am on July 15, 1997 on the front of steps of Casa Casaurina, his mansion located in Miami Beach. Versace was returning from a visit to News Cafe, where he picked up magazines, when he was shot in the back of the head and once in the left cheek with a stolen Taurus pistol. A witness pursued Andrew but was unable to catch him as he fled into a nearby parking garage.
— On May 3, Lee Miglin’s hands and feet were bound as his head was wrapped with duct tape. Andrew Cunanan stabbed Lee Miglin more than twenty times with a screwdriver before slitting his throat with a hacksaw and finally stealing his car.
— After an argument with Jeffrey Trail on April 27, Andrew stole his friend Trail’s Taurus pistol. Andrew phoned Trail from David Madson’s apartment to tell him to come and retrieve his gun. When Trail arrived, Andrew beat him to death with a hammer in front of Madson. On April 29, Trail’s body was found rolled in a rug and placed behind a sofa by one of Madson’s coworkers.
— Authorities believed David Madson and Andrew remained in Madson’s apartment together after Trail’s murder. Madson was initially labeled as a suspect in Jeffrey Trail’s murder, however his family insisted he was being held hostage by Andrew Cunanan. On May 2, Madson and Cunanan were seen driving in Madson's Jeep north of Minneapolis and eating lunch together in a bar. The following morning, Madson’s body was found on the east shore of Rush Lake near Rush City, Minnesota. Gunshot wounds to the head and back from a Taurus pistol (the one Andrew had stole from Trail’s home) were found on Madson’s body.
— On May 9, in Pensville Town, New Jersey, Andrew Cunanan shot and killed 45 year old cemetarey caretaker William Richard “Bill” Reese. Later that day, William’s wife visited the cemetery to check on William when her husband did not come home for dinner. After she found William’s office door ajar and radio playing inside, William’s wife called the police who found her husband shot in the head by the same Taurus pistol Andrew used to kill Madson.
