If you've ever heard a movie score and thought "holy shit, this is incredible", there's like, a 50% chance it was Hans Zimmer who composed it.

Anyway shoutout to John Williams, amazing composer and probably the one who made the other 50% of "holy shit amazing" soundtracks (Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Superman, and incidentally the original Harry Potter theme and score) who famously worked closely with the first openly transgender woman to be nominated for an Academy Award, Angela Morley. He respected her, and so far as I can see, has never made transphobic remarks.

things I’ve noticed in the UK:

- when you’re jay walking, cars will actively accelerate bc the drivers want to kill you for breaking the rules

- servers in restaurants act very scared and apologetic, so maybe people aren’t nice to them here??? or I could be terrifying

- it’s really cute when little kids have British accents, but I’m unmoved by adults with accents

- extremely good gluten free options. this country is like 20 years ahead of Canada in that regard

- people will give random insignificant buildings names with little plaques. and then that’s the name that shows up on the map. like even a smaller than average family home, you can name it like it’s a dog

- lots of brick and stone buildings. looks cute and charming until you enter one and there’s no air conditioning

- people are still wearing jaguar print. I like this. don’t let it die

You know when you finish a game that was really good, and it’s just over? When you try to push the falling action as long as you can even after the final cutscene plays and you have to say goodbye to that world you left a piece of yourself in?

You know that deep feeling that follows, as hollow and sinking as full and uplifting, that’s so powerful all you can do is sit there and feel it?

Those games are rare, Lunacid is one of those games for me. I left more of myself than I think I ever should have in the Great Well, but I think that’s okay. Even if the dream ends, it lives on in the dreamer and they carry that into tomorrow. I’d like to think there’s something beautiful in that.

A quiet trans man, Robert Allen (1914-1997) was never the type to make headlines. However, his 1957 marriage was front-page news. He transitioned in 1943 and was among the first in the UK allowed to legally change sex.

Allen published his autobiography in 1954, “But for the Grace: The True Story of a Dual Existence.” There is contradictory reporting on Robert – if he was intersex or simply found a sympathetic doctor. Regardless, he lived a long, happy life and shouldn’t be forgotten. I restored and colorized these photos to celebrate his life.

If you are a socially anxious person, you have to socialize. Your panic/anxiety attacks will only get worse and trigger more frequently if you constantly avoid contact with The Public. Not saying that you need to be a social butterfly- but there is a genuine problem with not being able to order your own meal at a restaurant. And it cannot be solved by always having someone else do it for you.
