Fred staggers back a step away from her when she kisses his cheek, chest constricting painfully tight until he’s struggling to breathe. He’s got to do it now, he’s got carry out X’s demented little ‘dare’ now, or he’s not going to do it at all. “He kissed me,” he blurts out, when he catches his breath, when he’s got some of his control back, “Alfie. He kissed me. After you left the pitch the other day. And I let him. And I kissed him back, Izabela, I kissed him back.” It’s horrifically easy to let the detached mask he usually uses when he dumps people slip into place; the worst part is, it feels the same way it usually does. “…You should have listened to them, the ones who warned you about me,” he mutters, voice low. “They call me a heartbreaker for a reason.”
It’s like all the air leaves her body all at once. Any trace of a smile fades from her face. “What?” It’s not really a question, more of a chance for him to take it all back, say it was just some stupid joke. But he doesn’t. For a moment she can’t breathe, or speak or do anything but stare at him in complete and utter horror. The pain in her chest is crippling and that ocean inside her that had been calm with him suddenly surges forward to drown her once more. “You promised.” She whispers, her voice shaking, hands curling into fists at her sides. “You promised!” This time she yells, fists meeting his chest as she pushes him away with the strength normally reserved for beating bludgers. She wants him to hurt, like she is. Wants to reach inside him and tear out his heart like he did to her. But she doesn’t. Instead she stands there, chest heaving, tears staining her cheeks, nails digging so hard into her palms there’s blood. She’s looking at him but in that moment all she can see is the other man that broke her, her mother’s boss, and her face contorts in anger, “You’re just like him.”
freeeddieweasley:
“There’s just–it’s–I can’t…” Fred trails off, grimacing and rubbing at the back of his neck before he turns his head away from her touch. He takes a few deep breaths, shoving his shaking hands into his pockets so he doesn’t have to look at them. “…An ex, of mine, he, ah…he’s been hanging about, lately,” he starts slowly, and it’s not a lie. He’s not lying to her, just like she asked. “He’s not a nice bloke, and I figured it’d be safer for you if I just…stayed away, for a little bit. At least until he gets bored and starts harassing some other poor sod. I’m sorry.”
He’s not lying to her; he’s just not telling her the whole truth, either.
She clenches her jaw as turns away from his touch, allowing her hand to drop, her heart squeezing painfully. Her lips purse at the mention of an ex, those usually weren’t good news. Izy wants to take his hands, she wants to hold him, to comfort him. But she doesn’t. Then she remembers Alfie’s words to her in the corridor a few days ago and she looks away. “It’s okay Freddie, you don’t have to apologize.” Comes her soft response, her eyebrows creased in thought, "Alfie Kettleburn is your ex isn’t he? He said some things to me the other day. But I paid them no mind.” She turns her gaze back to him, giving him a small smile as she steps closer, hands rising to rest on his upper arms, “you don’t have to protect me though. I’m perfectly capable.” Pushing herself up on her toes she presses a gentle kiss to his cheek, “but I do appreciate you trying.”
professor-teddy:
“I did a few minutes ago, actually. He’s here somewhere.” he told the girl, “He got bored of teasing me for now, so I assume he left to find something more entertaining.”
“He’s here?” She lights up almost immediately upon hearing that, pushing herself up onto her toes in an effort to try and stop him. “Merlin, I need to find him, I really need to talk to him about...something.”
themalrobinson:
“Freddie Weasley? No, can’t say I’ve seen him. Not in a few days, at least,,” Mallory responded with a light shrug. She sent the girl a brief smile, “I don’t usually keep a look out for him, or anyone that he really hangs out with. I stick to a different group of people, you know.”
Izabela bites her lip, folds her arms over her chest. She’d been hoping the other girl might have some idea where he is. “Yeah. Fair enough.” Comes her mumbled response, it’s obvious her thoughts are somewhere else. Finally, with a heavy sigh she looks at her, “sorry, I thought he’d be here. I need to talk to him.”
freeeddieweasley:
He nearly jumps clean out of his skin when the significantly smaller hand slips into his. His chest constricts painfully, breath stuttering for a moment, and he forces a smile onto his face. Fred has to actively resist the urge to shake Izabela off, which only makes his stomach churn with guilt even worse. “Hey,” he breathes, wincing when he realises he sounds like he’s just been punched in the throat. “Sorry, yeah, sorry, I’ve just…been busy? Quidditch practice–James is a bloody slavedriver when he wants to be. How’ve, uh, how’ve you been?” Pathetic, a voice (that sounds horribly like Alfie’s) hisses in his mind.
Of course, she notices immediately that something isn’t quite right. This isn’t the same Freddie that had kissed her in the hallway. That Freddie had been so confident. So sure. Her eyebrows pinch together and she slowly untangles their fingers, eyes searching his face. There’s something akin to fear in her expression, she’s scared that maybe he’s second guessing his promise to her. Maybe he doesn’t feel for her in that way. “I’m-I’ve been fine. I guess...What’s wrong?” She asks, ever the blunt one, “and don’t...don’t lie to me Freddie, please.” She hesitates for a moment before gently resting a hand on his cheek, giving him a small, sad smile, “I already told you, nothing you could say could drive me away.”
Well, it had taken her long enough, but eventually she’d seen him, towering above almost everyone else. The warmth that had spread through her chest at the mere sight of him was enough to make her smile. “Hey.” Her voice is soft as she comes to stand beside him, words meant only for him. Slipping her small hand into his much larger one she looks up at him, expression soft and adoring, “Is everything alright? I haven’t...I haven’t seen you much.”
@freeeddieweasley
“You haven’t seen Freddie Weasley, have you?” The question leaves her lips before she can really stop it, and she turns to face the person beside her, eyebrow raised expectantly. After being abandoned by Val for one reason or another she’s kind of just been wondering around in the hopes of bumping into her...boyfriend(?) - she’s still not quite sure what to call him - but she’s so far had no luck.
You have been invited to my party in the forbidden forest. If you don't show up, I'll tell everyone your secret. Get ready for some fun. ~X
Honestly, these letters just seem to be getting odder. A party in the Forbidden Forest honestly wasn’t too out-there. She’s heard of students pulling far worse stunts. Izabela rolls her eyes, throwing the letter in the fire. Odd as it is, she still can’t have people finding out about what happened, and perhaps Freddie would be there. She’s been growing worried that he’s avoiding her. So with a huff, she turns to her closet, hoping to find something party-suitable.

“It’s like the teachers have decided to kill us before they let us graduate.” he said with a sigh as he placed his completed Charms essay aside carefully before picking up his Transfiguration book to start on his essay on conjuring spells.
She smiles slightly, looking up from her own work, “That’s a little bit morbid.” Izabela chuckles softly, “At least you’re in your last year, I’ve still got this year and next year to go. You’re not exactly instilling me with confidence.”

“Ahh, let me guess, about my cousin?” Lucy tilted her head to the side, she didn’t even guess, she knew. If there was one thing Lucy would tell during social interactions between people, it was tension, especially due to the fact that she had a lot of experience with it. “I would just ignore it. He’s always grumpy.”
“You called it.” Izabela says, spinning her bat in her hand. She looks away for a moment, lips pursing as she thinks about Alfie’s words. After a moment she looks back at Lucy, pulling a face, “Y’know I never thought I’d see a pig walk on two legs until I met Alfie.” Shifting from one foot to the other she clears her throat, “You..you wouldn’t happen to know how he and Fred know each other, would you?”
albxspotter:
“That wouldn’t surprise me,” Albus said with a light laugh. He ran a hand through his short hair and grinned a bit, “That’s the only reason I can think as to how this would happen. They must be planning this behind our backs.”
“Or, you know,” Izabela shrugs, “It could just be pure coincidence.” She raises an eyebrow as she glances over at him again, but then laughs softly and shakes her head, “But nah, that’s a way to obvious explanation for something as devious as this.”
lorcxnscxmxnder:
“You know, last conversation we had it started off like this too.” Lorcan joked, remembering the girl in the desk argue with him that she couldn’t concentrate because he was staring at the window. “You and the sun have such a relationship I would assume then. I just wonder why.” He smiled, deciding to be bold and sit down next to the girl.
She raises an eyebrow at him, remembering their last...conversation, but refusing to let anything ruin her good mood. So she gives a smile, a small one, but still a smile, “Do I look like I can waste any time that could be spent in the sun?” Izabela asks, gesturing to her fair complexion, “And besides, this part of the world is so...damp. Everyone should relish the sunshine while it’s here.” She fixes her eyes on him once more, “Which is why it annoys me when people block it.”
albxspotter:
“I’m starting to think that my professors hate me. There is no way they all decided to make their essays due on the same day by pure coincidence.”
“They obviously just hate you.” Izabela says from her seat across the table, absentmindedly flipping through a book. “I bet they all gather in an empty class room and plot ways to make students lives miserable.” She grins at him teasingly, before shifting her gaze to the page in front of her.
There’s little Izabela enjoys more than sitting in the sun on a warm day. She’s found a spot on the grass, a little ways from the lake, her books and parchment sitting beside her. On her other side, sprawled out on his back, is her oversized cat, also enjoying the sunshine. Izy has her head tilted upwards, eyes closed, a soft smile on her face as she takes a break from her homework. The sunlight flashes off her golden hair with each small movement. When a shadow is cast across her face her eyebrows pull down, and she opens on eye to look at whoever it is blocking her sun, “If you want to have a conversation with me, I’m gonna have to ask you to sit down. You’re blocking my sun.” She explains softly, opening her other eye and turning to gently scratch her cat’s belly.
