Tsukipro’s pretend-stage play ORIGIN has been rolled out at AGF2017. While there’s a ton of merchandise, the play itself doesn’t actually exist, but fans have been invited to participate by using the #エア舞台オリジン twitter hashtag to suggest content and offer comments about the play. I think the official twitters select tweets from the hashtag and let the characters comment on them.

Nakamuro Shugo x Nogami Sho interview from Seiyuu Men Artist Side vol.2

(Not the full article; just some highlights.)

Initially, Shugo was surprised to be cast as Issei as their personalities are completely opposite, and Shugo thinks that he’s very much like Ichiru. But as an actor, he’s happy to take on new challenges.

Nogami can act naturally as Ichiru because of the character’s honest and straightforward nature.

Both Shugo and Nogami were relieved when they found out that a friend was cast as their sibling twin (they’ve known each other from working on Idolm@ster sideM).

Nogami calls Takeuchi “Shun-chan”, and Nishiyama “Kou-chan” ;__;

For Shugon - “Takeuchi-kun” and “Koutarou” (though on a recent sideM livestream he referred to Takeuchi as “aitsu” www)

Although QUELL was last to debut as a Tsukipro group, Nogami believes that the close friendship of the 4 cast members is strong enough to rival any of the other groups.

Recap of Proani QUELL episode, A Small World. I spend more time taking screencaps and analysing them than watching the episodes haha ;;;;;;;;

First, let’s talk about the OP. My copy of Because you are arrived in the mail this morning and I’m looping it as I type this up. I’ll review it in another post once I’ve given it a good listen (or twenty). Anyway, the good news is that the full song is significantly better than the TV size cut.

I’m in love with the first part of the dance routine that centers around the mic stands. When Ichiru sings “Not knowing if we might meet someone” Eichi faces him and reaches out a hand (I assume Shu is mirroring the action with Issei).

Let’s do some QUELL-spotting in the first 2 episodes of ProAni while waiting for QUELL’s focus episode that’s coming up next week :D And talk about some details that may or may not contribute to the Proani viewing experience :D Obligatory warning for lots of rambling.

In Japan, it’s common to wear face masks in public, usually for the following reason:

Allergies or hay fever. A huge portion of the Japanese population have some sort of pollen or plant allergy, especially evident in early spring.

To prevent germs from spreading; from yourself to others when you’re sick, or from others when you can’t afford to get sick.

Some people in professions that rely heavily on their voices (eg singers, TV presenters, seiyuus) wear masks regularly to protect their throats. It’s a common belief that wearing a face mask to sleep keeps the throat from drying out especially in colder weather.

Celebrities wear it in public to avoid getting recognised and drawing attention to themselves.

When you’re too lazy to put on makeup but need to go leave the house (I’ve done this myself lol)

Shu probably wears it for points 2, 3, or 4, or perhaps a combination of several reasons. In the BELIEVER drama CD, it’s not mentioned whether or not he was wearing one while walking around the streets of Sapporo (where he ran into the twins), but judging from bits of conversation that happened later in the CD about paparazzi, I’m guessing that he wasn’t. Shu’s a pretty chill guy so I don’t think that he minds being recognised, or probably hasn’t experienced any nastiness from media or fans in public to warrant wearing a mask. So! In the above images, which happened in April according to the canon timeline, he’s probably just wearing it for allergies or hygiene, since early spring is also when a lot of people get sick from the changing weather.

At this point QUELL’s living spaces (both the individual bedrooms and shared common room) are the only ones that haven’t been revealed, but we do get to see Shu playing the grand piano. Not sure if the piano is within QUELL’s area, or shared among the whole dorm.

In the scene where Shiki’s at a standing noodle shop (dirt cheap but delicious eateries without seats, hence their prices), the red tin that he sprinkles over his soba is shichimi - a seven-spice blend with chilies that can be added to virtually anything. This product is an actual Takamura Shiki merch that you can buy. It’s called “My Shichimi” and has Shiki’s name printed on the lid lol. I can’t believe this nerd carries it around in his pocket when he goes out to eat, especially when the restaurants always provide them… A shame he didn’t choose any toppings for his soba tho. (I always go for ebiten.)

As a side note, afaik Shiki’s never shown wearing a face mask in public. Although, these cheap eateries are usually frequented by salarymen just looking for a quick bite so the chances of running into a fan is pretty low.

Lizz squirrel plushies of each SolidS member chilling on the bench. Keep an eye out for these mascots (for all groups) as they’re sure to pop up regularly throughout the show.

The leader slash producer of QUELL. With a calming presence and demeanor, as well as a mature appearance, he is often mistaken as being older than he actually is. Overcoming a complicated and difficult childhood helped to shape who he is today, yet his past doesn’t weigh him down, and he carries himself with immense grace and dignity. He is one of the few people maintaining a lasting friendship with Takamura Shiki from SolidS, which began when they were group mates in the past.

HORIMIYA EICHI CV: Nishiyama Koutarou (Nickname: Tarori) / Age: 23 / Height: 180cm Blood type: O / Birthday: Dec 15th / Image colour: Lime green

Cheerful and approachable, he used to work as an assistant director on a certain popular music TV program. With a combination of fearlessness and social skills, he is able to instantly become friends with virtually anybody. He enjoys taking care of others, fussing over even the smallest of details. Shu met him while making an appearance on said program and they hit it off. He brands himself as representing the average “commoner” within the group, and is always there to brighten the mood.

KUGA ISSEI CV: Nakamura Shugo (Shugon!) / Age: 17 / Height: 172cm Blood type: AB / Birthday: Sep 12th / Image colour: Navy blue

A person of few words who appears unsociable at first glance. The older brother of his twin, Ichiru. Born in Sapporo and raised in an orphanage since they were babies, they started working at a local production factory after graduating from middle school, but things didn’t go well with the colleagues and it wasn’t long before they quit. It was then that they were picked up by Shu, who, at the time, was on a national promotional tour. Previously, they had no interest in the entertainment industry, but accepted Shu’s proposal to form a unit together. Issei is the type of genius that can learn anything just from observation.

KUGA ICHIRU CV: Nogami Sho (Nogamin~) / Age: 17 / Height: 172cm Blood type: AB / Birthday: Sep 12th / Image colour: Red

Holding nothing back when it comes to expressing his emotions and speaking his mind is the competitive younger twin brother of Issei. He is quick to pick fights which lands him on bad terms with those around him, but his straightforward nature and tendency to cry easily are endearing traits. He looks up to his older brother who has protected him since young, and refuses to forgive anyone who insults Issei. Being the type to leap before looking, his actions can sometimes result in lucky situations.
