In hard yoga poses, you'll often hear your teachers say: "sit in this place of discomfort." It's a reminder not to immediately run away from something just because it's uncomfortable, but to embrace it, breathe into it. It's a message I've been continually reminding myself of during this last month. It's uncomfortable, at times, starting a whole new life. And sometimes I do think about how easy it would be to just retreat back into the familiar. But if you backed off of every hard yoga pose you put yourself in, you wouldn't actually be stretching. It's the same in life. Sometimes you just have to sit in your discomfort, until the discomfort becomes comfortable. #yogaeverydamnday #oneoeight (at China Town Washington, DC)
