In the home where I grew up photography was a lifestyle, something I’ve carried on with ever since. Growing up during the 70’s and 80’s in Niagara Canada I learned photography as one learns a mother tongue by simply absorbing it from the surroundings. I still live in Niagara and still do photography much the same way it was done when I was younger. After a brief affair with digital I have returned to my analogue roots, shooting film which I process and print from a semi-permanent home darkroom.

My goals in photography are achieved simply by having a camera and using it. Recognition is nice but engaging in photography is an end in itself. While I could go on to no end about my philosophy and approach to photography, I consider matters like my vision and style best communicated through the photographs themselves. I believe too many artists do a disservice to their own work by speaking too much about what they intend it to communicate.
