-Vampires in this universe use fake blood liquid substitutes or capsules as of means of getting their nutrients. Drinking from another person is a sacred honor reserved for Vampire mates, or reserved blood givers because the bites mean claim over a person.

Zanka being absolutely sick of the blood substitutes because he’s a broke college student so that means he cant afford the good stuff, so instead of being normal and trying to get the good stuff himself. He decides to ask out the geek who sits in the back of his BC Calc class.

At first it’s just for the blood and Jabber’s very willing to give his blood, really and truly just using him. Then Zanka starts to catch feelings….

Nicky signed up for the Arkham internship raffle on the off chance he’d get a job, it was a 1 in a million chance that he never counted on getting it at all, he honestly forgot about it until the letter arrived at Amy’s house.

Amy and Tails were beyond excited for him, going all out into helping him prepare for this amazing opportunity, while Nicky…. Well… he’s never seen himself as the ‘get 9-to-5 job, get a house, make money’ kinda guy. Sure he was a kid living on the streets of Gotham, constantly on the move, constantly in danger but he kinda liked it (when he wasn’t getting beat up), he got by fine enough without it, if he had a choice between that and a soul sucking job he’ll work for the rest of his life he’ll choose the streets any day of the week

But this wasn’t just about him, Tails was with him and that smart, kind, brave kid deserved a lot more than just ‘getting by’ and bailing him out of tough scrapes whenever Nicky couldn’t just outrun whoever’s bad side he got on, he deserved better, at the very least a roof over his head.

So he’ll bear through it and he refused to rain on his friends’ parade

Besides its not like it’ll be totally boring, being near all those criminals, trapped in cells with a chance of escape at any time… it sounded like the kind of thrill he liked (not that he’d ever let Amy and Tails know that lil tidbit)
