Shout out to my Arabic teacher that looked at us yesterday mid-lesson and said, “I’m worried. You all look exhausted and depressed.”
Of we were all like, “Oh yeah we’re dead inside, you haven’t noticed?”
And he snapped shut the textbook, threw up his hands and said, “That’s not healthy! No more vocab! Time for dancing!”
And he taught us a dance from Iraq and we danced instead of doing vocab. We didn’t stop dancing until he saw all of us laughing and was satisfied that we were all feeling better. It was perhaps the coolest, most kind-hearted thing I’ve ever seen a college instructor do.
I really wish more teachers used techniques we take for granted when it comes to young children, like movement breaks. I had a college professor once who used to be a kindergarten teacher. First day of class we made name tags for our desks with markers and stickers. It seemed silly at first but most people enjoyed a simple chance to be creative and it set the tone for the course. We did a lot of whole class discussions, sometimes moving desks into a big circle so we could all see each other. People opened up and were able to have safe discourse on difficult topics. No one ever felt judged. Research papers could be any format or topic, and exams were all open book/note. She was hands down one of the best professors I’ve ever had.

Chicken avocado salad on my break yesterday. It’s really easy to make and brings me back to elementary school when my mom would pack me a chicken salad sandwich for lunch. (Without the avocado) 😊
I doubled the recipe, but the original is two cans of chunk chicken (shredded a little more), one avocado, salt, pepper, garlic powder, ¼ cup of mayo, ¼ cup of sour cream, and 2 tsp of lime juice. Super easy, super delicious, and super filling! This diet is the best!
My IG: dianna_wonder documented the journey. And has photos of almost everything I put in the meal plans.
I also have an audio version of all this if you need a little more guidance under 8 min if you would like -inbox your email I’ll send all this stuff in pdf version plus the audio.
There is a keto version of your favorite food. I promise. If you are a person who has emotionally eaten in the past, suffer from hormonal issues, pre diabetes, diabetes, acne, acne inversa. I highly recommend! I can help you build meal plans!
Watch the “the Magic Pill” on Netflix and research high fat diets for much science on why keto works.

Okay, but this is an excellent method to use when anyone is being inappropriate. Pretend that you don’t get it. Whether the comment is sexist, racist, sexual, misogynistic, inappropriate, off-color… watching them squirm as they try to explain and realize just how awful their comment was it is better than being angry about it.
