I think this is real! I wasn't sure because it seems like perfect bait for one of those ai "nature" accounts that just fakes things, but I looked around a bit and found a few more examples. There were only about four, and three of them just used the same image and said "species unknown" but this one went over where it was found and took original photos.

took a look at iNaturalist, and yeah, this is legit -- while very young fry are born with "normal" eyes, by this size the eyes have migrated.

this fella is unusually clear, though. most will have some speckles or coloration by this size.

It is important to note that in Sex and Violence (4x14) the siren first appears as Nick Munroe to both Sam and Dean at the same time.

The fact that Nick is literally a cross between Sam and Dean, because he's cloaked himself as what they each want most, a brother they can trust and who respects and admires them. Because we tend to focus solely on how Nick targets Dean in this episode, but I don't think it is insignificant that Sam sees him the same way. And that all Nick has to do is spit in Sam's mouth and Sam falls under his spell, too, looking just the way he does.

Good point. Sam and Dean are so enmeshed in each other. So much so that they often can't even comprehend different point of views, different feelings. Of course their siren would be a mashed up combination of both their desires.
