A preference for the night or darkness. Also called scotophilia. Αn abnormal preference for the night over the day. The love of darkness or night, or feeling like you belong in the dark. Finding relaxation or comfort in the darkness.

The word Philia, as an ancient Greek word for love refers to brotherly love, including friendship and affection. This contrast to the ancient Greek terms Eros, or sexual/romantic love, and agapē, or detached, spiritual love.
