@esherphotography This last shoot was based around a modern version of "Mother Nature". I clothed my model in a racey bathing suit and accessorised it with big sunglasses to create a more urban and fresh outtake. I also did this to create more contrast between the very delicate and graceful setting of the flowers and shrubs, meeting the sexy and provocative look of my model. The location of the shoot was outside so therefore the lighting used was natural which gave a better softer look to the background and also on the model. The bathing suit of the model was also chosen due to it being a neutral and dark based colour which created contrast with the surroundings and also the cut outs which crates the sexy or provocative undertone.

@esherphotography For the title of "What is it" I based this shoot in a pool. I did this due to the distorted look it provides given the water above it swirling and moving. I decided to base my shoot in the pool as it was a different location to previous shoots and it also provided a vibrant blue colour given the tiles used in the pool which also provided a nice background and location for the shoot. The lighting used in this photo was natural given that the shoot was taken place outside. My model was pulling different posses under water, however we then decided to use different motions and movements under the water as this is what created the most distorted look for a more interesting and intriguing photo.

@esherphotography This shoot was based around the struggle that many people face, in particular younger girls in our generation with their body image and the way they look and present themselves. I wanted this shoot to demonstrate and show the amount young girls and also boys struggle with their appearance given how judgemental and vain more and more individuals are becoming. This shoot represents how many people go through they're day to day lives, having very little self esteem or confidence and how damaging that can be as a consequence. This in turn encourages more and more people from a young age to think that they need to fix certain parts of they're body to look better, introducing a new world where most people would have received plastic surgery. I shot this shoot in my bathroom to show the morning routing of the model. I also used a black and white filter to further enhance the bleak tone of the photo.

@esherphotography This shoot was based around the same subject however shooting at different angles. I chose to go for a more laid back and relaxed shoot this time, compared to my previous shoots which are typically more intense and have more emotion behind them. I chose this specific location due to the more urban look it provides with the narrow alleyway and the brick walls representing this and also directing the sunlight nicely. I was inspired to shoot my photos in this way due to some recent high street photography having similarities in the location, attire and also poses to create a more chic and intense shot, however still more laid back and relaxed at the same time for the viewer. I also chose to apply a black and white filter due to it proving the photo with more edge and slightly more intensity for a lier impactful and striking shoot.

@esherphotography This shoot I based around one of my few passions and loves in life with the title being "My favourite". I chose to base this shoot around tennis, a sport and also a part of life for me which I have followed for many years now. I chose a very neutral and plain coloured background for this shoot in order to allow the subject of the photo, being the model, to stand out more in order to convey the tone of the photo better. Tennis is a sport based on more mental strength and determination then anything else, I tried to bring this through the images by using specific poses and stances as well applying a black and white filter. I felt this helped to further covey the message and tone of the photos better which creates a more impactful shoot as a result. I also used natural lighting in this photo to give a softer edge to the photos in order for them not to come across too bleak or dull and therefore have a more serious tone.

@esherphotography I set this shoot in the forest due to the different rays of light that would be shinning through, showing strong contrast between the light and shadows, however still with a softer look given that the light is natural. I created contrast with the tones of the photo given the location being in the woods and the attire of my model being more formal and elegant. I chose to set my shoot in this way due to early mornings often revealing things we don't always often see, perhaps more secretive and discrete affairs. My shoot was based on lingering thoughts of people that are perhaps gone, whether it be from their individual lives or from this very world through different circumstances and how in our imagination we can combine the most extraordinary of visions or idea together, and still make it seem real, though sometimes it is; it's no longer a figment of ones imagination. I applied a black and white filter to these images to keep a slightly more sorrowful and moody tone to make the storyline behind these images somewhat more sinister.

@esherphotography This shoot was done in a very simplistic manner and set in a very casual way being shot on a typical staircase. The reason for this was to create a different and more light hearted tone compared to previous work in order to have more variety. I wanted to create a very casual yet sexy shoot with attire you would wear at home on a day in. I chose a long shirt for this shoot as it represented night attire however at the same time was still somewhat racey and provided a good tone for the shoot. I also based the model on the stair case as it provided different levels to use which therefore allowed more angles to be used to shoot more intriguing photos. The lighting in this photo was also natural as it gave a softer look on the photo which aided the tone and also looked aesthetically more pleasing.

@esherphotography For this week I chose to shoot myself in a very simplistic and plain manner with somewhat little clothing and no props being used. The reasoning for this is, is that many people see themselves in a very basic manner and never pay too much attention to their qualities, whether it be physical and/or mental through immense strength, courage, tenacity or bravery etc. We typically dwell on the bad or choose to ignore it after much time of deluding oneself that everything is okay. The overall tone of my photo was people seeing themselves as nothing special, and most notably never realising how much they are and how much they can do, settling for less. This all starts with self confidence which a growing number of people are living without and therefore not benefiting themselves and possibly others around them.

@esherphotography For the title of "Frame your subject" I chose to use a mirror as a way of symbolising this. The tone and overall message of this shoot was insecurity and and low self-esteem and how people view themselves. I also chose the mirror due to it showing the individuals reflection, however how many people see a different image to the next person, what some people class as beauty is not necessarily what others do too. The images show my model preparing herself before she leaves her home, however the shoot contains an obvious tone of depression and resentment. I was inspired to base a shoot on this due to the rising amount of people being obsessed with their appearance and feeling the desperate need to erase or fix it, even if there was never an obvious issue to start with.

@esherphotography I chose to base this shoot on the subject of flowers in particular due to the connotations of delicacy, beauty and fragility they posses, however with the mix of "dynamic black and white" to show a more gloomy and eerie tone to create juxtaposition in hope for a more impactful and intriguing shoot. I also choose to base this shoot on flowers to show some of the different connotations they have including, death and hurt. This was also one way of showing that not all beautiful things are what they seem to be, there's always something beneath the surface. This brings more tones of distrust, deceit and secrecy. I was inspired to base my shoot on this due to the abundance of people, whether they're in the public eye or not, are never as they quite seem to be, there's nearly always a second half you don't see, a side of ingenuity

@esherphotography Ansel Adams Artist Study All the images focus on a specific flower however in a very simplistic manner, each flower being singled out and taken with a very plain background. The images are also applied with a black and white filter to create a more moody and somewhat glum tone, however given the nature and connotations of flowers being elegance, gentleness and beauty, the tone changes to more soft beauty yet at the same time still somewhat striking. The photos have also been edited and most of which have higher contrast between the black and white to create a sharper and crisper image to make a more striking and intriguing image overall. The shot type is close up on all the photos, this draws the viewer into the subject of the photos which is the flower itself and this is what sets the majority of the tone. The lighting used in the majority of the photos was most likely natural, however given the higher levels of contrast, it's possible that artificial lighting could also have been used to enhance the lighting and making it slightly more harsh.

@esherphotography I based the title of "faceless portrait" on a more deathly and sorrowful tone. I used a black mesh like materiel as a vail to symbolise someone or something have died. However the main focus of this specific shoot was the death of identity and the generalisation and stereotyping of individuals in the world, creating more simplicity however a far less cultured, creative and individual world. I chose a very basic setting for my shoot to make the impact of the model and vail stand out more, however also to make it fit in with the message of the shoot which includes simplicity. I was inspired to base my shoot on this through the past months of realising just how generalised younger generations are becoming; being too scared to show there individual and authentic selves due to the growing amount of people stereotyping and making unjust and unfair remarks or thoughts

@esherphotography Nicholas Alan Cope & Dustin Edward Arnold Artist Study All the images contain a simplistic and neutralised look with it being a very close up shot type on nearly all the photos along with only one colour being used in all the photos which is black. This creates a dull and bleak tone given that the colour black has connotations of death and depression. The attire is also one of the main features of the images being a black veil which was typically worn after someone, typical a loved one, had died recently and the individual was still morning. Queen Victoria was most noted for this after Prince Albert died, hence why as a whole outfit it recorded the name "Victorian Mourning dress". The black and white filter added on to this photo also enhances the tone of it due to the bleak and depressing tones displayed by the image already. The photo however is still striking despite the dull colours. This is done through strong poses and also good lighting to show the veil off well and still define the different black, greys and whites.
