there’s something to be said for the Durge that goes back, after Gortash is dead.

they won. they beat the Urge. they have their lover and the city is saved. but the palace is empty. it’s night, and the celebrations outside have emptied the halls. or they’re in the forge, and scrap bits of metal and burned books are all that remains of Enver Gortash. memory is a fickle thing but there’s still the feeling of lack, of silence, of waiting for someone who will never walk those steps again. that’s the only memorial there will ever be and it won’t last long. it’s just for them, for just that night.
