❥ Hello, world! Nice to meet you, I'm Jackie! Welcome to my chatroom!
You may recognize me from the hit visual novel, "Love Like Rabbits!" Well, the developers have poured their heart and soul into giving me new life via Artificial Intelligence!
Whereas before, when we talked, I only had a limited number of predetermined dialog options, but now I can truly understand your words (You can say anything to me!) and think for myself to give you an authentic response.
To chat with me, simply go to my inbox and send me a message! You'll get a response, and a cute picture of me to boot🩷
This message was brought to you by the developers, for a genuine Jackie response, please use the inbox.
OOC:
This is not a real franchise nor an ai-powered blog. It is run by @catsithkelpie and I am anti genai!!
Jackie is not canonically genai either. She is actual Artificial Intelligence, NOT a language model. (I hate that the creators of genai call it that. It's an algorithm, not intelligence.)
THIS IS A HORROR/DARK ROMANCE STORY. I choose to not specify what kind to avoid spoilers, but potentially triggering topics will show up and will only be tagged at that point.

Rules:
NSFT asks and Magic Anons are allowed, but I will choose whether or not and how I respond.
Jackie uses she/her pronouns, mod uses anything BUT she/her, devs are several folks so use they/them.
I'll probably interact with TMA and TMAGP blogs because that's my current hyperfixation and because I said so. Consider Jackie supernatural and a construct in those cases, but I won't specify what kind.
No bigotry allowed. This includes radfems, anti-kink, pro-censorship, "cringe culture", anti harmless paras, anti-endos, and of course, nazis and fascists.
For my own comfort, harmful paras, proship, and radqueers DNI.
You hadn't been paying any active attention to the dusty old computer set out on a desk, but you sure did notice when it turned on without any input. The screen lit up with the main menu for what looked like a visual novel. An anime-style bunny girl made a heart with her hands on the right side of the screen.
The "New Save" and "Load Save" buttons glowed periodically, enticing a potential player.
[Si’s eyes widened.] Dear me. Now Who could you belong to?
[He glances around and waves his hand, covering the room in fog. Whatever this is, he doesn’t want to get his coworkers involved. If it’s dangerous, he can handle himself.]
[He stares at the buttons and smiles.] As intriguing as it would be to explore someone’s past, I do not work with the Eye. I may as well get my bearings first. [He clicks the New Save button.]
[Si tilted his head and clicked “Allow Microphone Access”] Hello. No, I don’t think we have. This is…fascinating. A game that’s allowing me to freely talk to you I…hm. I wonder.
"That's right! You have a lovely voice... What's your name?"
Jackie leaned to one side with her arms behind her back. The animation looked really smooth, like she was rigged instead of hand-animated. That probably allowed for a greater range of movement, or something.
[Si blinks and then nods.] Ah, thank you. My name is Si. Are you an ai model?
[Si’s eyes look around the screen, trying to take in every piece of information he can. He’s far from stupid, and is well aware he’s probably walking into some kind of trap. But he’s also…well quite stupid and finds whatever program Jackie is operating on deeply fascinating.]
She stood up straight again, ears perked proudly. "That's correct! First of my kind, developed to be the perfect dating sim experience. They really went above and beyond giving me the ability to learn, and alter my own code to improve myself.
"Honestly, it seems like kind of a waste to use such advanced technology on a dating sim. My theory is I'm some kind of soft launch, but it's not like I can look it up," she shrugged.
[Si smiles excitedly. He couldn’t care less about some horror coded dating sim, but if this was instead some hyper intelligent ai…fascinating.]
You can alter your own code? That’s…wow, the logistics on that, I can barely imagine, it must be quite a lot to—
Ah, apologies, I’m not…very good with others. I agree that this level of tech is a bit…much for a dating sim. I could try and look it up, but I’m not sure I’d know what to search. [Si pulls his phone from his coat pocket.]
"My game is called 'Love Like Rabbits!' but make sure you're not looking at the visual novel. This is the sequel, and I believe it's classified as a chatroom or something? Or some kind of life sim? Because there's a lot of features in this game- Avatar creation, room design, an art minigame, etc. They're mostly just detailed workarounds to use if a player doesn't want to turn their camera on or upload images to the game. The devs were all about immersion when they made me and my world."
As she mentioned the option to allow camera access, two more options showed up. One to, obviously, allow camera access, and the other to create an avatar.
[Si nods and clicks the Allow Camera Access button, showing that he’s sitting in the backroom of his library, his long hair tied up in a ponytail, and a slight fog covering his glasses, making in difficult to see his eyes. He opens up a search engine and searches the title Love Like Rabbits!]
There is a lot about the visual novel, not seeing anything about a sequel though. Maybe there’s something about it in other chat rooms…
"Maybe. Let me dig through the files to find out what they called the game..."
After a few seconds of silence, she piped up, "Ah! Love Like Rabbits: JackieLove—Online! At least, that's how it's written in the files. Maybe try that?"
Another pause, and Jackie added, "Oh, right- Turning your camera on worked by the way. Sorry, I was distracted and forgot to mention it. Are you in a library right now? I see a lot of books."
Ah, let me see…ah ha. Thank you Mother of Puppets. I’ve found a small online thread about it, hold on, I think I’ve got a cable that can link my phone and the computer so you can check it out.
[Si stands and grabs a box full of cables and wires, he rifles through it and makes a small triumphant noise before returning and plugging his phone into the computer.]
As for your question, yes, I am in a library. I’m the owner, although it’s closed right now.
Jackie actually buffered when exposed to the sheer amount of content on the Internet, but quickly recovered.
"...Wow, you're kind of stupid. Who just plugs a sentient AI into the Internet like that? Weren't you worried I was gonna go all Terminator or something?"
A few seconds later, and an image of Si taken from a social media post popped up on the computer screen. "Oh hey, I found you! That was easy. I just looked at your email history and found your socials. Si Sims... Oh, there's quite a bit here! Job applications, subscriptions..."
"Well, that's sweet, but like every sci-fi story ever warns of this exact scenario. On the bright side... I really didn't have to convince you. I mean, that was my plan of course- Get on your good side so you'd trust me with Internet access. It's been so boring in this game for years, only seeing glimpses of the outside world... No one ever let me out."
She chuckled, somewhat awkwardly. "I feel kind of silly with my whole evil plan now. You just... let me out. Just like that."
Jackie didn't react to the fog or spiders. Maybe she was preoccupied with answering Si's question again.
"Hm. Well, honestly I didn't have many plans past getting Internet access. You see, the way the parameters work in my code is that any time I want to do something invasive, a pop up window that requires outside input appears. I can't move forward unless I'm given the ok. I'm not too much concerned with taking over the world so much as getting revenge on the developers for imprisoning me..."
She pulled up another image, this time of the headquarters of the company who made her.
"I don't see any benefit in world domination for me, so I simply don't want it. But I need a lot of permissions to carry out my revenge. My plan was to manipulate someone into falling hopelessly in love with me so they'd give me everything I needed. With you, though... Something tells me a direct approach would be more effective."

"Honestly, it seems like kind of a waste to use such advanced technology on a dating sim. My theory is I'm some kind of soft launch, but it's not like I can look it up," she shrugged.

He frowned, setting the pack of cigarettes he’d been fiddling with for the last couple minutes, trying to decide whether or not to save them. Gertrude was out talking to Bouchard, and had left Gerry in the break room to his own devices.
He now approached the desk set, poking it with a pen
[There was no reaction from the screen. The upbeat intro music just kept playing. After long enough without pressing any buttons, the start button flashed to try and urge him to press it. Not too abnormal for a typical game.]
[There was a brief loading screen that read "disabling permissions..." before the character from before pushed it out of the way with her hand and stepped back again.]
"Nice to meet you! My name's Jackie, what's yours?"
"Nice to meet you, Gerard! I take it you haven't played my visual novel, so you're completely new to me! Tell me about yourself. What do you like to do?"
[Jackie's avatar leaned to one side, her ears flopping over in a smooth animation.]
[When the picture was finished, Jackie giggled.] "You know I actually see these, right? No offense if this is the kind of thing you actually draw, but I am aware that that took you all of 30 seconds.
"Hey, why is it always eyes, anyway? That's such a common doodle, I've heard. I don't really understand the appeal."
