The Yellowjackets fandom has always been a safe space for all members of the queer community, and I mean no harm in asking this, but where are the fem!character x fem!reader fics? 😭 I joined this fandom a long time ago, but over the past few months, I’ve noticed a sharp decline in fem!character x fem!reader content. This feels strange, especially considering that the show’s main demographic seems to be lesbians. It just doesn’t make sense 😭 I barely see two fem!character x fem!reader fics per month now, when people used to post several every week. It feels like the safe space for lesbians has disappeared, and now there are hardly any lesbian writers or readers left 😔 A reminder that this is 100% not an attack on trans readers x YJ characters, this fandom is a safe space for everyone who watch the show.
On another note, I’ve noticed an uptick in mistagging, especially when asking for requests. While I think it’s valid to use the 'yellowjackets x reader' tag for visibility, doing so every day just clutters the tag and doesn’t help. If you want to get requests, the best approach is to start writing and build a following that will naturally ask for them. It’s not that hard to come up with a plot, and if you’re stuck, there are plenty of prompts online and countless fics to draw inspiration from. If you’ve posted 'send requests' five times with no response, maybe it’s time to stop asking for them and just write something on your own instead. I don’t mean this in a rude way, but that’s how most of the biggest accounts in the community got started.
