Robbie Amell being interviewed at Hollywood Today Live, august 2016.

Teddy sighed and pushed his hair back before shrugging. He didn’t know what he was supposed to say here. His sister had never brought a guy home but he could only imagine how Jacob was feeling right now but he was too drunk to even attempt to relate. He glanced down when Jake wandered over to him and shook his head. “I don’t know what we are, Jake. I just wanted to talk to her. She hasn’t returned any of my phone calls or texts. I thought she was mad at me but I don’t know, I think it’s more than that.” Teddy shook his head. “Whatever, you’re just gonna tell me to fuck off anyways. I would if I were you.” He replied cooly.
When Teddy spoke, Jake found himself at a crossroads. On one hand, he wanted to tell the guy to turn around, walk away, and never show up at his house again. The larger, more reasonable part of his mind urged him otherwise. It wasn't as though he hadn't liked a girl enough to show up at her door, and it would have been hypocritical for him to say different. The more he thought about it, the more laughable it became. His actions with Ria wasn't vastly different to Teddy's, not that he was about to express as much. Did he really want to know what Amelia was to Teddy? No, but he needed to. That didn't mean he had to take it completely easy on him though, Jake reasoned to himself before sighing and taking a step back. "I'm not you, but keep assuming what I'll do, and I just might." Looking around, it was apparent the only person Teddy had disturbed was him. And for that, he was grateful. "If you think she's mad at you, then she's probably mad at you." This was uncomfortable. "What happened to make you think it's more than that?" Breathe, he had to remind himself. It was hard, considering his mind was providing a dozen reasons as to how Teddy would have made his little sister mad at him, which only served to make him mad. "Did you do something?"
runavollan·:
“Your left side is exposed.” Runa began, slowly circling them as she observed their stance. It was a busy Saturday at Tyrs Krigere, with the sounds of clinking weights filling the building. Even most of the cardio machines were in use, which was rare for a Saturday this time of year. Not that she was going to complain, the gym being so busy gave her something to do. When it was near empty, she spent most of her time sitting at the front desk or utilizing the punching bag, so this was much preferred. She continued to circle the person that she was talking to, eyes flickering over their frame as she observed their position and made mental notes on how to fix them. Making her way closer, she gently placed her hands on them to adjust their stance and lower their arms just slightly to cover their left side.
“In hand-to-hand combat, you’d end up with some nasty bruises, and that would just be the least of your worries.” the woman began, pulling away slightly to observe them once more. “And if your opponent had a knife, you’d better hope an ambulance shows up before you’re bleeding out.” she commented with a faint smile. “And if they for whatever reason had a sword, you’d have very little chance.” she chuckled slightly.
Nodding at her word of advice, Jake corrected his stance to what he believed was best. Or rather, what he knew to be best against his father. Their training techniques were vastly different to this sparring session, something he became more aware of when Runa moved closer to re-position him. "Bruises I can handle," he replied confidently, trying and failing to mask the cocky grin that was stretching across his lips. That confidence faltered some when she mentioned a knife. While his dad was cruel, he wasn't downright barbaric. So when it came to fighting with weapons, Jake was extremely inexperienced. "Okay, the knife threw me off but a sword?" Blinking, he shook his head. "Guess I can't rely on hope that it'll never come to that."And, God forbid it ever did occur, he wanted to be prepared. "Alright. Say you have a knife, what's the best technique to block a direct jab?"
everaltair·:
“No,” she snorted, shaking her head with almost too much judgement. “Because I’m a clone, duh.” She moved her hands to the side and feigned a bow, though she was drunk enough that she tripped even while doing this, it should have been a sign for her to chill the fuck out. “It’s okay–” she followed through a hiccup. “It’s all online anyway.”
"A twin," Jake corrected jokingly, arms reaching out to steady her when she swayed forward. The second he was confident she had regained her balance, his hands fell back to his sides. He was always over conscious of personal space, more so since Summerdale. And he didn't want to ever be that guy that was too handsy, even if he was only trying to help her out. "You good?" Jake asked, studying her from his position. She was obviously drunk, causing him to feel reluctant about leaving her alone at the bar. "You need someone to walk you home or something?"
hokuspocus·:
She had a certain routine to her day now, jogging at least two times a day has become a necessity. Closing the studio a bit early, she made her way to her usual route. She steered clear from people, she felt more comfortable on her own, so she took a short cut through the woods before the dawn. Lost in her thoughts, she closed her eyes for a brief moment, when suddenly her feet stepped into the beginning of a ditch; her frame leaning forward, as her eyes shot open. She waved her arms back and forth trying to reclaim her balance but to no avail.
It was a short fall, the ditch wasn’t that large, and so she wasn’t majorly hurt, just a few scratches here and there, yet she was a bit too short to climb back up. “Great job, Haylee. Perfect.” She spoke up, as she dusted herself off and stood up, “Hello? Is anyone around?” She called out in hope that somebody was going to pick up on her voice. “Damn it, why is this always happening to short people?”
When Jake had decided to take back up the habit of running every morning, he hadn't expected to see many others. After all, in a town that consisted of supernatural beings who could run faster than any human on their worst day, it didn't seem likely. Yet, he had only made it as far as the trail in the woods when he overheard something — or someone, he quickly corrected himself. Trying to settle his breathing so he could hear better over the beating of his own heart, Jake jogged in the direction of the noise, halting in just enough time to stop himself from tumbling into the small ditch.
"Holy crap, that was close! Oh —" In the mix of his moment of panic, Jake realised he wasn't alone, his eyes falling on an annoyed looking redhead who had done the same thing he just avoided. "Are you alright?" Though she looked unscathed, he couldn't have been sure. Crouching down to his knees and leaning forward, Jake extended his arm and nodded at the girl. "Whenever you're ready, I'll pull you up.”

Chou tried to ignore the day, it did awkward things to him and he preferred not to think about them. As it was he’d seen a family walking past, a young boy being picked up by his father and… He’d needed to move. Chou ended up curled into a ball on the park bench with half a dozen butterflies fluttering about quickly… If he just kept looking at them.
“I like butterflies.” he wasn’t sure if he was talking to himself or anyone close enough to hear, he just remained curled into a ball and stared at the illusory bugs. “They’re nice.”
It was the cluster of butterflies that caught Jake's attention, his curiosity peaking as he moved towards them with wide eyes. In truth, he hadn't even noticed the male curled in a ball underneath them until he had started talking. Sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck as he suddenly felt like he had intruded, Jake pulled his gaze back to the butterflies and nodded thoughtfully. "My sister used to like them too," he said, though he doubted Amelia enjoyed them as much now. He still didn't know everything she had gone through since Summerdale, but what he did know was how much she had grown since then. "Uh, everything okay with you?"
marksdavenports·:
“I can pretend to be your boyfriend and make that creep go away.”
“Aw man, I appreciate the heads up but I don’t think it’s me he’s got his sights set on.” Jake mused lightheartedly, his gaze flickering to the man who was checking out the blonde a few feet from them. “Maybe she could do with some help though. Are you still thinking of going with the boyfriend thing? ‘Cause I’m here to help but I don’t think my girlfriend would be too pleased with it.”
rheaxabssyne·:
“Dammit…” she muttered to herself as she bumped into him. She was embarrassed that she had gotten so caught up in her thoughts that she ran into somebody. “I’m so sorry about that,” she says and gives him a nod, “Yeah I’m alright, but are you?” She frowned when she saw the coffee splotches on his clothes and quickly grabbed some extra napkins she always kept with her out of her purse and gave them to him. “Can I get you some new coffees from the shop?”
“Hey, honestly, it’s all good!” Jake assured her, mouth stretching into a wide grin as if to confirm his words. “It could have been worse, imagine if I was carrying some heavy tools? Both of our feet would have been in the danger zone.” He joked, although thankful she had caught him on his coffee run rather than any other time. Chuckling when he realised her line of vision was trained on the splatters the coffee left behind, Jake accepted the napkins with a grateful look before nodding his head. “I’m fine, nothing a quick laundry run wouldn’t fix.” Dabbing the areas he had been caught, he shook his head quickly at the offer. “That won’t be necessary. I appreciate the thought, but the coffees are still drinkable so no replacements needed. Thanks though.”
clairesitek·:
“No, the point is, last time I made a bid the guy turned out to be a huge creep. So thank you very much.”
“I think the fault lies with the anonymity part on that dilemma. Bright side, it’s all over with and you’re creep free. Right?”
@aj-thorne
Jake had decided a catch up with his little sister was well overdue, especially considering he had yet to question her about the handsome young man who had been outside their house calling her name. The thought made him unconsciously tighten his grip around the ketchup bottle, causing the sauce to splutter out and cover his hot dog completely. “Dammit,” he cursed under his breath, grasping some kitchen roll to try and wipe away at least one coat of the sauce. Jake had the clever idea of preparing hot dogs for the two of them, something to distract her from the talks she always cringed away from when they were younger. He liked to think he had always been the perfect dose of protective, but his sister, mother, and sometimes even Ria had said otherwise. Halfway near the bin with a handful of used napkins, Jake’s head lifted at the sound of the door opening. "AJ?” He called out, freeing his hands from the napkins as he tossed them in the trash can. “Come in here, I’ve made lunch!”

“When will people let go of the time I faked my own death to have an edible arrangement sent to my place? I mean the past is the past, right? And I’m pretty sure I’ve done stupider things since then.”
"You faked your own death?" Jake questioned, unable to mask his surprise. He knew Holly well enough by now to be aware of her antics, but this was a stretch, even for her. "Wouldn't it have been more logical to have pretended you were getting married? From experience, there's nothing more fun than having numerous desserts placed in front of you for the taking. And, you know, it's a lot less morbid."
everaltair·:
Raging drunk couldn’t have been a better term for it. Convinced, by now that the cat was out of the bag–everyone had seen her performing live at the Spring Fling after all– Ever made no attempts at hiding her face the way she had before. The ball cap that had hung on her head a few days before gone, she’d even started to wave at some of the people that looked at her oddly, a challenging look in her eyes as she all but gleefully shouted. “Yep that’s me, the Supreme’s doppelganger. Come one, come all.” She tilted her head back in laughter, loud and obnoxious, too proud of her own words. If apathy wouldn’t do the trick then maybe this would, she clearly wasn’t coping well. “Would you like my autograph?” She asked someone nearby. “Okay, if you insist, but only if you promise to buy my EP.”
It was a small town and news travelled fast, so anyone who knew anyone had learned about the parent trap situation that had unravelled. Jake couldn't believe it at first, but there was no denying what he had seen with his own two eyes. Still, in typical small town fashion, the shock value wore off and people found other things to talk about. "Your autograph?" Jake asked, confusion sweeping his features as his brow furrowed before smoothing out a moment after. "Oh, cause you're a singer? Yeah, sure. I mean, I'll take the autograph but I can't make any promises about your EP."

“I’m always honest,” Ria said. She didn’t know if she was supposed to start a conversation as they drove, primarily in silence, the music playing softly in the background, or if she could just indulge herself and look at the moon. Jake could be a vampire, someday, she thought, staring up at the moon— and then she’d rule over Jake in the same way she ruled over all of the other werewolves. He’d age slower, much slower, but he’d spend so much of that time stuck on how he’d triggered.
It was a terrible train of thought, and she forced her gaze away from the window and back onto Jake when, thankfully, he started speaking again. Now that the car was off and they’d parked, Ria felt as if she were in a movie.
She romanticized too much. Too much Bollywood, too many high school comedies, too much time daydreaming accidentally about her best friend who she didn’t have a thing for!
Was he nervous? “Deal breaker for what, Jake? If I tell you I haven’t seen any of the fast and furious movie, I’ll lose my chance to… do what?”
Her answer was direct, more than what Jake had anticipated when making the teasing comment. It was a valid question, and it only made him feel more stupid than usual when he failed to respond immediately. In truth, he hadn't meant anything when saying it. Now she had put a spotlight on it though, it did make him wonder. He realised that this was a moment that could go two ways, depending on his response. And he knew what way he wanted it to go.
"To... enjoy my company." Something fluttered deep in his stomach, an almost giddy feeling overcoming him as his hand found her forearm, thumb skimming back and forth. Though Jake wanted to remain serious, his nerves spilled over in his natural defence mechanism — humour. "To secure the spot of high tier best friend." Yet, the moment he said it he had regretted it. She was the one who had been brave enough to approach what they had been dancing around for such a long time now, the very least he could do was meet her half way. And that he did, Jake switching in his seat so he was fully facing her. His fingertips continued to smooth circles on her forearm while his other hand came to rest on her side of the dashboard. "To be something more than my best friend — if you wanted."
iantylers·:
Spring Fling was more fun than Ian thought he’d have, mostly because he hadn’t cared about cleaning up the community— it wasn’t his, and he’d done shit like this so much in Haven only to have the whole place burn down anyway. If Hollow Grove was just going to get attacked all over again at some point, then he didn’t want to keep going through the motions. There was no point doing the bachelor auction. He’d wanted to make friends and build a life since coming to town, and now he had two jobs, people in his life to talk to, friends he’d almost died with, and Dylan.
He couldn’t eat, which eliminated the chili cook-out; he wasn’t in the place to do a fashion show, which eliminated that option; he had, however, watched the softball game and enjoyed some movies in the park, cried at the death of Tony Stark, and listened to the live music. The sunlight didn’t do much for him, but his presence of mind was nice enough that when he’d made his way over to Hair of the Dog. He clambered onto one of the only free barstools, noting the guy sitting next to him as someone he’d seen a photo of. “Hey,” Ian said, nudging the guy with his shoulder as he leaned over onto the bar, elbows against the edge, hands clasped together on the surface. “You’re Ames’ brother, right? Amelia. AJ.”
@jacobthorne
"Hello," Jake greeted in a friendly though awkward manner, his gaze searching the male’s face for any sense of familiarity and frowning when he came up short. He was about to shake his head when he heard the name Ames', confident the other had him confused for someone else. Though he paused when his sisters name followed, this time looking at him with a narrowed, suspicious gaze. First one dude shows up at their house and now another catches him in a bar? Making a mental note to sit down with his sister and discuss her new friends, Jake offered a smile and nodded. "The one and only," he confirmed before adding. "That we know of, anyway." It wasn't completely far fetched, Elijah Thorne was terrible on all accounts. Why not add adultery to the long list of his sins? "Are you a friend of hers, or... a friend of hers?"
r-iadesai·:
“They don’t have to tell me,” Ria stuck her chin out. “They just feel irritated and I feel it.” Her parents had never bothered with surprise parties, not with four empath children who could understand what excitement and love and nerves felt like, and especially not when those four empath children had eight very big ears available to hear things and pass on to each other. Besides, they knew too many people, the guest list would have been too long for everyone to keep their mouths shut. Rahul had told her once that by the time she’d been born, he’d already known their mother was pregnant. He knew how to guess, and he’d been more intuitive aged seven than most people were at fourteen.
What in the world was going on? Ria watched as Jake tried to search the basket for whatever it was that he was looking for, his nerves growing by the second. He must have felt so bad, after everything, to have forgotten something. She didn’t care about the sushi, or the pizza, or any of it. Ria was too busy thinking about how Jake had tried to cook for her, and thought about what she’d like to eat, and how his anticipation was building in the same way hers was. For what, exactly, she didn’t know, but even this simple conversation felt more than just a conversation about Jake feeling bad about what he’d forgotten to bring.
She couldn’t blame him for how excited he was, how nervous he was— this was their first date. He’d asked her and everything, and he’d made a basket, and they were sitting here in a decidedly not-just-friends kind of way. “Hey, hey,” Ria said, putting her hand on top of his. “I don’t care abut what you forgot, or what isn’t here. I’m just glad we are. You don’t have to be so nervous, Jake, it’s okay.” She reached over to to kiss him, her hands moving to his face, her lips brushing softly over his. “We can go to the garage. We can do whatever you want.”
The touch caught him off guard, interrupting his planned out act and sweeping all feigned irritation from his features. Instead, a dumb grin took its place. Damn her. Did she even realise what a simple brush of her skin against his own did to him? After a quick study of her face, he decided that she didn't. Ria was just being Ria, quick to assure him as always. "You make me nervous sometimes, what can I say?"
While he hadn't been expecting the gentle kiss, Jake welcomed it all the same, his hand automatically finding the back of her neck and resting there, the warmth of her skin radiating against his palm. God, if he hadn't put so much work into the surprise itself, he would have happily remained where he was for the rest of the night. Brushing the tip of his nose against hers before ducking his head, Jake peppered light kisses along her jawline until he reached the curve of her neck, a low laugh rumbling from his lips as he realised he was getting carried away with himself. Drawing back slightly, he was unable to wipe the wide grin from his face.
"We can go to the garage," he repeated, nodding his head before pulling himself to his feet and offering her his hand. It took little to no effort in helping Ria to her feet, and instead of releasing his grip immediately Jake manoeuvred her into a little spin before bringing her close and pressing his lips against her forehead. "You go ahead to the car, I'll clear this up and bring the pizza to you." Now it was time to get back to his plan, though if she tempted him with more kisses, he doubted he would have the willpower to refuse her. That was something he would handle if and when, Jake decided, scurrying around where they had been seated and clearing up after them. It took quicker than he originally thought, thankfully, and Jake was soon approaching his car with pizza in hand.
After sliding in the drivers seat and handing the still warm pizza box over to Ria, Jake put the car in drive and began to follow the route he was all too familiar with. Lucky for them, and the pizza, the event had cleared up the roads, allowing them to make the short trip to the garage with no issues. Unlucky for him, Jake could feel the nerves stirring in his stomach as they neared the location. Had he done too much? Too less? Ria would smile at him regardless, and thank him for it, but he wanted to make her feel special — he wanted this to be special.
"I really am sorry for dragging you out here, Ria. I know you said it's okay, but I wanted this first date to blow all the other dates you've been on out of the park, yknow?" The words came easy to him, what was hard was maintaining the sad twinge to the smile his lips refused to mask. Parking up and making his way over to her side, Jake opened the door for her. "C'mon — just watch out, it's gonna be dark." He was almost certain that if the world was silent around them, Ria would have been able to hear his heart — which was beating erratically in his chest. A few more steps, Jake thought.
Once he had unlocked the main doors, Jake positioned himself behind Ria, hands on her hips as he guided her forward and into the darkness. "Wait here." He murmured in her ear before reluctantly moving away from her. A few moments and only one minor stumble later, Jake found what he was looking for and flicked the switch. Light burst into the room, walls illuminated by the fairy lights he had hung up the evening before. A square body chevy was in the centre, a mass of blankets and pillows piled in the back like a makeshift bed. The rear of the truck — where they would be seated, if all went well — was facing the only wall Jake hadn't strung lights along. Instead stood a projector, Ria's favorite movie on roll and ready to play at the press of a button. A musty scent lingered in the air, courtesy of him using incense in hopes to mask the smell of oil that clung to the garage. All in all, he thought he did pretty good. What he thought didn't matter right now though, and Jake found himself facing Ria with an almost shy smile. Almost.
"So, uh — surprise."
