“Oh my Gawd, you’re taking weird steroids or something, aren’t you? My life is such an afterschool special.” She of course didn’t really think Teddy was taking steroids. He’d promised her he wouldn’t mess around with drugs anymore, after the incident, and obviously he wouldn’t break his promise. “So wait, this vampire is just like, hey can I crash with you, and you’re like, yeah sure, that’s super not sketchy, c’mon in buddy? You have zero self-preservation skills. Like, zero.” The idea of her brother as a bartender at any of the bars in town made her eyebrows rise. “Please tell me it’s at Nina’s and not Purgatory.” Humans who bartended at Purgatory were basically blood bags, totally known fact. She let him drape his arm around her and put her arm around his waist, so that they were once again the conjoined twins, a nickname they’d had before sports had ruined their lives. “Yeah, totally, why should I worry?” She butted his shoulder with the side of her head to indicate he sounded like an idiot, but let it go otherwise. Who was she to judge his coping mechanisms? “Yeah? You sure? I don’t wanna, like, impose.” She absolutely wanted to impose, but Teddy had a life and shit now, and she could hardly just insert herself into it. No matter how much she wanted to. “Sorry, I just threw up in my mouth a little, what were you saying?”
Teddy shook his head. “Nah, Allie. You know I haven’t touched drugs since high school.” He shrugged and nodded. “I met him at a bar, Ian is cool and his best friend is a werewolf. We hangout, it’s fine. It’s better than living with mom and dad.” He said with a small laugh. Teddy shrugged and laughed again. “I mean, Purgatory is fun Al, you should come with us.” He replied. Teddy shook his head and pulled his sister in closer and hugged her harder. “No, you’re never imposing on me, I promise.” Teddy laughed loudly and leaned his head back. “Hey, this means that I might actually have a girlfriend soon... Maybe, who knows. I haven’t dated anyone since Whitney and AJ’s a lot nicer than she was.” He said as he glanced back at Allison.
