seriously,

beldaruit gives me the impression of someone who is very delicate and fragile. we know he is the wise in teachings, know how beautiful his magic is, but somehow i still feel like he has very little authority and physical strength

as if the moment he steps out of the great hall he instantly loses 50% of his strength meanwhile his condition is already bad, like he only comes out to serve as a diplomatic figurehead. his solemness also weakened quite a lot and it's not just when compared to deanreldy

so why does beldaruit give off this kind of feeling? in wizard society where class distinctions aren’t even that clear, the solemn dignity of a wise should feel much more solid

i have something with ezrest's overwhelming dominance, both the father and the son. i love how beldaruit and riliphin always have to be on guard whenever they interact with them, and here the counterbalances even appear in pairs which is also one thing i really enjoy.

also it's interesting that whenever the queen is there she soften their edges and make their presence much less unsettling.
