Joohyun had a very good day that day. It was evident by the way she had skipped happily towards her room inside their dorm, twirling as if she were in high school again. Normally, when her day goes fantastically well, she would call up her best friend from her hometown to tell her all about the day she had, blabbering nonstop and rather uncharacteristically to the said person. SHe decided that today would be no different. When the other line had picked up the phone, she didn’t even wait for a greeting. She had dived in and began speaking excitedly about what happened that day, her voice’s pitch seemed to raise and she was speaking in that Daegu accent that she rarely used during her stay in Seoul. She stopped mid-sentence, noticing that something was definitely weird: her best friend wasn’t squealing with her at all. To her horror, she had heard a male voice instead. Slowly, she removes the phone from her ear to see who she had called instead. Her eyes widened, slowly placing the phone back to her ear before, with a frantic voice, shouting through the phone. “I’m sorry!”
He-- (’ his greeting is stopped short, because the female on the other end of the line doesn’t really allow him to go on; instead he’s met with an onslaught of squeals and giggles interspersed in between a highly excitable storytelling; confused, he takes a glance at his phone’s screen again to make sure that he’d read the name right before answering. sure enough, there it is, ‘red velvet’s irene,’ written on the screen ) Hello? (’ he repeats, even in the middle of some story she’s telling; he thinks maybe she’s got the wrong number, and as curious as he is about the story, he figures she’d just be more embarrassed if he reveals his identity later on ) Irene-ssi? (’ laughs ) It’s okay-- you can even go on with the story, if you want!
