There has never been,
nor will there ever be,
anything quite so special as the love between
The mother and a son

Natasha Romanoff and her unselfish heart.
I have no place in the world. She found her place in the world.
This part still makes me unsettled. The fact Aberforth caught Snape but Dumbledore deliberately let him walk away. The old man clearly wanted the Prophecy to come true. I wonder if Severus ever realized this…
Absolutely.
And this action is central to understanding Dumbledore’s character. If we accept Sirius’ recollections on his Order days, they were outnumbered and the war was well on the way to being lost. Feeding Voldemort the prophecy was their best attempt at winning, and it worked.
Once you accept this stance, then it casts an interesting light on the Fidelius, Dumbledore having James’ invisibility cloak in his possession, and the lack of protection around the Longbottoms - because it was equally important that Voldemort acted upon the prophecy, and that someone was marked by the Dark Lord as his equal. As unsettling as it sounds, to win the war, the Order needed the prophecy to be enacted - even if that meant the deaths of James and Lily (and/or Frank and Alice).
It’s also particularly interesting that Dumbledore tells Harry that ‘the eavesdropper was detected only a short way into the prophecy and thrown from the building’. Trelawney recalls seeing Snape, yet when we see her in a deep trance in PoA, she seems entirely unaware of her surroundings - she says , ‘I drifted off for a moment’ and looks startled when Harry repeats her prophecy back to her: ‘I think you must have dozed off too, dear! I would certainly not presume to predict anything quite as far-fetched as that!’
So for Trelawney to know that Snape was the eavesdropper, presumably he must’ve still been in the corridor when the full prophecy was spoken.
The question is, does Aberforth interrupt Snape as Trelawney is part way through the prophecy - and that’s why Snape so fortuitously misses the most pivotal part of the prophecy?
Or did he hear the prophecy in its entirety and was partially Obliviated after the fact, to ensure that he only repeated the part of the prophecy that Dumbledore wanted Voldemort to hear?
Regimes fall every day. I tend not to weep over that, I’m Russian, or I was.
natasha romanoff died a noble, honorable death. she sacrificed herself to save trillions of people. she knew she would die, and she didn’t hesitate. that’s a heroic death. and maybe, MAYBE that would be ok if the mcu didn’t have a history of fucking up their female characters. maybe if pepper wasn’t relegated to wife and mother, maybe if betty wasn’t completely forgotten about after incredible hulk, maybe if jane had more to do than be thor’s love interest, maybe if they gave maria hill an important role, maybe if they didn’t reduce maya hansen’s role to the point that her actress was disappointed with it, maybe if frigga wasn’t fridged to make thor and odin sad, maybe if they didn’t forget that sif existed, maybe if they gave sharon screentime and didn’t put her down in favor of peggy, maybe if they let gamora shine, maybe if nebula had more to do than be tortured on screen, maybe if wanda wasn’t whitewashed and goywashed and didn’t have her powers nerfed, maybe if the ancient one wasn’t whitewashed, maybe if they didn’t completely erase mantis’ backstory and powers and personality to instead make her into a subservient asian stereotype, maybe if they didn’t totally fuck over monica rambeau, maybe if carol had a significant role in endgame like they hyped her up to have, maybe if they didn’t kill shuri offscreen, maybe if they didn’t make peggy into a prize for steve at the end, maybe if nat herself didn’t have that wack characterization and arc (if you can even call it an arc) in aou and had consistent characterization throughout the movies and was allowed to develop as a character and had a funeral and wasn’t constantly sexualized and presented for the male gaze, then maybe. then maybe it would be okay for the only remaining female avenger to sacrifice herself in order for the plot to continue
