I don’t think Z killed herself. I think Reina killed her.
Z had been so close to unraveling an extensive history of corruption, oppression, and deceit at the hands of the Velascos. She’d probably been the closest anyone had ever gotten— she managed to get BUGZ into the family vault without any of us noticing. She never told any of us her plans because if any of us knew, then Reina would know that we knew the minute we came near her, and she’d be able to point it all back to Z. That’s why she spent so long avoiding her at all costs. That’s why she’d been using Toetae to periodically erase bits of her own memory again and again. If Victoria didn’t hear about her plans, then Reina wouldn’t.
But her plan wasn’t foolproof. Reina was going to find out eventually and take matters into her own hands.

she killed herself. jumped off the roof of the school. thats kinda it. you all saw her mental state, let her ramble on and on about her delusions like that where we couldn't see it. i just wish we could have gotten her help.

Z didn’t kill herself. She said so multiple times herself. Over and over again in her LOGZ. It was absolutely foul play. She would not jump from the roof mere days after graduation, so close to a break in the case.
do you know its not true? do you? because people change their mind on if theyre going to kill themselves all the time! her saying she wasnt means fucking nothing! we dont have any fucking proof other than gut feelings and the ramblings of z herself to hint that it was foul play. we both know she most certainly wasn't in her right mind at the end considering how she was convinced she was in the middle of the truman show and decided that she should 50 first dates herself. id rather just let her rest than keep insisting it's some sort of unsolved mystery 2 years later
I never said she was right of mind. But it simply doesn’t make sense for her to have killed herself, even knowing what we know now. She wrote about her hopes, plans, a future she looked forward to. She’d just graduated, for treasure’s sake. And she was on the break of something big. We both know she was never the type to leave a stone left unturned, a question left unanswered, a story left untold. Even if she had planned on ending her life all this time, she wouldn’t have done it without first seeing this last thing into fruition.
If Z killed herself, she wouldn’t have done… whatever the hell happened to HAL9000. If she had truly jumped off that roof of her own volition, then HAL would still be around to give us a definitive answer to whether or not her death was a murder or a suicide.

hi no guarantees on anything but redux (as well as just all my pkmn irl blogs) might be like. abandoned. at least for a while.
i straight up cannot rp until tumblr support decides to help me out (i dont have access to my askbox, dont show up on tags, and even if i can rb things i dont show up in the notes instead being a ghost notif you just have to see the reblog on my blog) and i have to wait for that. if im lucky ill get a response in 1-6 months. key word lucky. i could be waiting years since tumblr considers getting nabbed my the spam filter/shadowbanned to be "low priority". of course theres also the chance i get really lucky and get help in the next few weeks. no garuntees for everything. anything is possible because tumblr support is an actual joke most of the time.
we're in the middle of an arc that literally revolves on my guys and cannot do much until thats resolved. my guys are heavily involved in tons of future arcs. redux simply cannot occur until im out of limbo and the fact i might have to wait literal years if im unlucky does not really make me confident or keep me motivated to continue the arc afterwards. even if yveltalreal is fixed, theres no garuntee the spam filter doesnt hit me again right after and shadowban me again.
once again no garuntees it might not be abandoned but this really just ruined my motivation and its really hard to roleplay when all the most important things needed to roleplay on tumblr are taken from you
i love you guys i love the communities ive been a part of on here but like when the main blog im hyperfixated on and my literal hub blog just cant do anything its just a huge hit. for my own health i have to accept i might have to give up, step back, and say goodbye.

It's always so weird to come down from the biology heavens to see what the average person believes about animals, plants, ecosystems, just the world around them. I don't even mean things that one simply doesn't know because they've never been told or things that are confusing, I'm talking about people who genuinely do not see insects as animals. What are you saying. Every time I see a crawling or fluttering little guy I know that little guy has motivations and drive to fulfill those motivations. There are gears turning in their head! They are perceiving this world and they are drawing conclusions, they are conscious. And yet it's still a whole thing if various bugs of the world feel pain or if they are simply Instinct Machines that are Not Truly Aware of Anything At All????? Help!!!!!! How can you look at a little guy and think he is just the macroscopic animal version of a virus
I think that’s a good way to look at it! Emotions likely evolved to benefit us: doing things that help us survive feels good, unknown things are scary to protect us, shame and sadness makes us not do something again, things like that. It’s weird to think that animals, who clearly react to things, would not have any sort of feeling on things, and simply factually react to stimuli. “Oh, my foot is being chewed to the core. This is bad, I guess. I should try to get away, so the bad thing will stop,” except also not really as thoughts but like, instant response, somehow.
Humans are different from other species of course, but sometimes we need to remember that we are but animals and also have instincts, and other species are more similar to us than we think
Oftentimes I see people just make shit up about bugs and other invertebrates. People will say stuff like "actually it's been scientifically proven that insects are physically incapable of cognition" with no source, and then you look it up and in fact there is tons and tons of literature reporting results on this exact thing. A while back after getting into an argument with people online about wasps, I decided to try compiling sources on invertebrate cognition out of spite and I had to take a break at some point because there is so much literature out there, it is actually overwhelming. Just with fruit flies alone, there's studies on how they form stable social networks and fight to establish hierarchies; how they make group decisions and act differently in crowds; how they pay attention to what other flies are doing and teach and learn from each other, even with other species. When subjected to pain out of their control, they can develop depression and respond to SSRIs to the point that they are literally used as animal models to study how to treat depression in humans. And that's just like, one animal!
Even with all the research there is though the truth is that we just haven't studied things like cognition, perception, behavior, sociality, etc. for the vast majority of invertebrates (i.e. the vast majority of animals). Most behavioral research (honestly, just bio research in general) is focused on vertebrates -- particularly mammals -- and the research that has been performed for invertebrates has still only been done for a small handful of species and lineages. Fruit flies are one of the single most studied organisms in the world (and there's still a lot we don't know about them). If idk, clams felt emotions, do you think you would be able to tell by just looking at them? (I have no idea if they do or not, I don't think anyone has studied this. we do know scallops can see.) But absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, and given the small glimpses of insight we have gotten into the vast world of unknowns, I think yeah it's pretty obvious that there is way more going on with a lot of animals than people think.
