Jake was excited to finally spend time with Selena away from the university and Vegas. It was the first time they could go out and be a couple. While his mother was hesitant on her being along for their annual family vacation, she was excited to meet the woman that seemed to have captured his son’s heart.
He had left all of the campaigning up to his manager for the next two weeks so he could focus on Selena, helping Edward with his legal issue and trying to help his sister with her new company as much as he could. Yes he was spreading himself thin, but it was the way he liked things.
The flight to Bermuda had been a long one but one that he had been thankful for since it allowed him to sleep. The last thing he wanted while there was some jet lag. While his mother went to her own room at the hotel, Jake had other plans with Selena. He booked a little cottage not far from the hotel to spend with her. He did not need his mother hearing of different things.
As the car pulled to a stop in front of the home, Jake paid the driver and gathered their bags from the trunk. “So, Miss Westmoreland, welcome to your home for the next week.” He said as he opened the door to the place.

Taking a trip away from work had been a bit of a risky step for them, but Selena couldn’t see herself saying no to Jake in any capacity. Back in school, being with him like this was everything she had ever wanted. Now, however, she truly did have everything she ever wanted. She was out from under her dad’s thumb, she lived near her best friend again, and now she had Jake.
Bermuda was absolute paradise and everything the pictures had boasted and more.
“I’m really happy you invited me,” she told him, snuggling up against him and tangling her fingers with his. Packing had been methodical. There were things she could wear out in public and around his mother and other things she kept purely for his eyes only. Bikinis, especially, safe for public consumption and others meant just for him.
“This is absolutely gorgeous,” she uttered with awe once they arrived to a picturesque cottage that looked like something off a postcard. She stopped to take in the deep turquoise-colored skies, the smell of the salty sea air. The cottage was white, complete with lounge chairs, and a pool sitting to the left once they cleared the lattice greeting them to their new home. “What should we do first?”
