Jake didn't get sick. Couldn't get sick. Whatever nasty virus or bacteria that found its way into his system would very soon find itself eliminated and he would very rarely experience any sort of symptoms at all. He was always in tip top shape and that was great and all but sometimes he wished he could at least get a simple cold or something.Ā At least that would have been a valid reason for him staying in bed for the past five days.
As it was now, all he had to blame it on wasĀ because I didn't feel like going out which wasn't all that great of a reason.
Jake had spent the last few days watching cheesy soap operas and telenovelas on the small TV that had been in the apartment when he moved in. He hadn't really eaten much and was reminded of it by the angry rumbling in his stomach but he had no desire to go to the store so he ignored the empty pit in his stomach.Ā
On the fifth day, there was suddenly a knock on his door.
Jake looked up as if the sound baffled him. He couldn't remember if he'd locked the door but didn't think he had so he called "Come in!" from where he was reclining on the old couch.
