Below, find a summary of what the newest volume of CHECK, PLEASE! will have to offer… highs, lows, and a whole new SMH!!

Samwell mens hockey’s favorite baker—and championship-winning senior captain—has graduated! How will the team survive? Problems abound as their new captain, Dex, learns that the effortless balance Bitty maintained on the team isn’t as easy as it looks. Then, ultra-aloof Nursey must finally drop his “chill” and get vulnerable in a senior poetry seminar. And to make matters worse, Chowder faces the dreaded ‘SSGS’ and is having the worst season of his college career. But when change arrives at Samwell hockey, it not only threatens to rip the team apart, but could destroy Dex, Nursey, and Chowder’s friendship forever. Before they graduate, to save their team and themselves, the three seniors must come together and ask the question: ‘What does Samwell hockey mean to you?’

Flirting with the Future NurseyDex, Teen, 21k Summary: At the beginning of his senior year, Nursey immediately (if unwillingly) realizes two things in quick succession. One: A large portion of the Samwell student body is apparently into Dex, even if the guy is completely oblivious to this fact. And two: For reasons that Nursey refuses to verbalize, he has a pretty big problem with that.

“So, who are we spying on?” Nursey asks, crouching down beside Chowder in the bushes.

For an athlete of Nursey’s caliber, this action should go a lot more smoothly than it does. Instead, he ends up half falling into the shrubbery, Chowder shushing him several times along the way.

Ultimately, he makes it to snooping height unscathed, and then peeks out over Chowder’s shoulder at the sunlit area by the lake.

When Nursey spotted Chowder here on his way to class, it was an easy decision to join. Not least of which because Senioritis has Nursey looking for any and every opportunity to avoid going to classes in general, even though they only just got back from summer break barely a month ago. But also because, since when has Nursey ever said no to infamous SMH shenanigans?

“Come on, man, clue me into the deets. What are we doing here?” he asks.

“Watching Dex get hit on.”

Nursey sputters and falls back onto his ass in the leaves.

After a moment of flailing, he manages to get out an inelegant, “No, but seriously.”

Chowder smirks that mischievous goalie smirk. “I’m timing how long it takes for him to notice.”
