Your Tau Fashionista OC should be put through The Wringer but not The Horrors. I think her artistic capabilities would improve greatly if she had to survive in a human hive city underbelly or out run ork hordes. But I don't think she'd survive exposure to the warp or torture by the drukhari. That's just what I think, I hope you have had similar thoughts.
My thoughts have mostly revolved around her becoming a make-shift therapist for a few different 40k characters;
Calming down the zealous rage of a captive space marine to try and persuade him that he doesn't have to turn all blue people into red paste and that there is more to life than fighting and killing.
Leading an Eldar lady into a special psychic-dampening lead-lined chamber where she can let herself feel all of her emotions without attracting warp demons, which later becomes a habit where she regularly goes into the anti-warp dome to vent and freak out about all the horrors instead of keeping it all wrapped up inside. Just screaming and screaming and screaming, all the pent up rage of someone whose spent the past hundred or more years ruminating on how fucked the galaxy is. Begins utterly stonefacedly stoic, for permitting oneself to truly feel emotion calls the warp. Towards the end she finds it within herself to laugh and dance and shout and cry, and does all with confidence and without inhibition.
Trying to deal with a Dark Eldar runt who, whether or not they really morally want to hurt other people, literally has to feed on psychic suffering or else psychically starve to death; a physiological state that makes it really really difficult to survive without doing evil things, and really really difficult to live with yourself without fully embracing evil thoughts and forcibly supressing any non-evil thoughts and impulses, because if you let them in and listen to them, suicide becomes basically the only moral choice. Maybe trying to find them ethical suffering-substitutes like taking them to a medical ward to get excess suffering from people in A&E or even offering to let them torture her a little but it just doesn't hit right if it isn't with evil purpose.
Trying to combat the perils of the 41st millennium by talking about feelings.
She'd start developing warp powers, too. Discovers the revelation that the warp wasn't always so bad. She was beautiful! And still is sometimes, when you treat her right! But she's hurt :( Because everyone is so mean and angry :( Everyone is - because the warp is everyone - and everyone still is beautiful, sometimes, when you treat them right. But perhaps the warp can be cheered up again... with the Power of Friendship..? Perhaps even... the Power of Love?!
