I’ve found that there can be safety in numbers. Or at least Me, Britt, Berry and San have each other’s backs. I watched that awful movie the Butterfly Effect, but I don’t know which butterflies I shouldn’t step on yet. I wish I’d seen the Beatles. I love them. Are you a fan? In fact, now I wan’t to try to go back. Or at least try to get a handle on this. Though, actually mastering it would be big. I could be like the master of time and space or something. Did your friend regain sight? How many times have you had to skip town?  No one knows or realizes that I’ve slowed time, and if I stopped it, I get these really nasty nose bleeds. So I try not to go the whole freezing it route, but it seems for now the only harm done is to myself when i’ve used or tested the limits of my powers. Though, altering the future…stepping on butterflies…that I’m terrified of.

Well you can add me to that list now I guess, I mean I don’t know you all that much but Santana seemed cool after I found out she wasn’t a creepy stalker and well, I don’t want to see anyone get hurt. I can take them or leave them, I’m not like a huge fan but there music is pretty good but yeah I would be careful where you trod because on wrong butterfly and kabloom. Like Doctor Who or Rip Hunter? He did, when I left, and that’s kind of when I realized what I was doing and I freaked out because I shouldn’t be able to do that to people I was- I don’t know, it was horrible and there have been incidents similar to that afterwards. Well even though the idea of nose bleeds isn’t the best and sounds pretty painful, at least there’s been no harm done to others. I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it and there’ll be no butterflies stepped on.

Hello Mr. Ashcroft, I’m Rachel Barbra Berry.  The circumtances that led to this are definitely not the best, but it’s nice to meet you and I’m super excited to have new people in our golden superhero squad.

As you have probably guessed by now, I’m the Broadway star media claim to be missing. Watching my fans feel the pain of having their idol kidnapped and possibly murdered was a taugh decision but you have to agree that the current circumtance asks for desperate measures. As for my ability, I can manipulate the sound.

Ah, so you’re Rachel, I’ve heard that I should keep my eye out for you and here you are. Have to say, not disappointed at all and adding the Mr gets you points. No, it’s not the best but hey, what can you do, evil assholes trying to kidnap and kill people come around everyday, they just don’t normally come after people with powers. 

I’m not big on the Broadway stuff, but I think I heard something about that and I think I’ve had to walk past flowers and candles where one of the theaters are on my way to work. Sound, huh? So you can break glass? And all that shit.

Likewise, James. Ah, well, there’s safety in numbers. I’m actually just figuring out that I can time travel. The whole do’s and don’ts? I don’t know. I just discovered this part of my ability a couple of months ago when I got stuck in the 60s. To me it seems like just yesterday that I was here, but in reality I’d been gone for months, and not knowing how I made it happen, I didn’t know how to get back. I’m not even allowed to experiment with it until I see a doctor. I hadn’t even heard stories. I found out about my gifts by accident. My parents were really upset with me and I with them about something trivial, and all of a sudden they were moving so slowly it was like someone hit pause on the remote. Are there any not so fun  limitations to that or do you just have an all access pass?

Or so they say, I’m still yet to see if there is in fact safety in numbers. You know, like messing up the time line, doing something when you go back in time that will alter the world now, they are like the most important rules in time travel. The 60′s huh? Era of the beetles. But shit man, months- that’s pretty extreme. I wish that had been the way I found out, that seems harmless and doesn’t freak anyone out- I caused my best friend to go blind, or well he thought he was blind. Probably but I don’t know about them yet, I don’t even know how to control this thing, every time I reveal my power I skip town so people don’t hunt me down.

Well it’s certainly a pleasure to meet you Quinn Fabray. And it’s not like I wanted to find people like you, it was more like people like you found me. Time travel, well that’s something right there, but I bet that comes with a big rule book that is so tempting to break. I’ve known since I was about sixteen, I didn’t believe it at first but I heard stories, but I thought that’s all they were. Stories. I guess I can create illusions, making people see, hear, smell, taste things that aren’t actually there, basically I fuck with their heads.

We’ve all been there.

Well, this might be the happiest a man has ever made me. We know it won’t be easy, but just having people backing you up on this is a huge morale boost to keep going. Congratulations, James, you’re officially our first recruit. Thanks to one of our technopath friends we will be able to communicate with you without risking getting caught, so we’ll inform you soon when you can begin training. 

For now just…try to enjoy the few days of freedom you’ve left.

Alright, first thing you need to know about me, besides the fact that I possess undeniable sex appeal, is that I have zero interest in sausage. 

You do have a file. Just regular, basic information, not nearly as big as mine for example. Since you never became a recruit.

I know it’s– a lot to take in. Hell, I wouldn’t even know what to do if someone came to me and drop this bomb. I guess it’s sorta helps that you felt something was wrong to begin with. 

Uh–no, I want to be very clear that I’m being honest about the danger part. We don’t wanna fool anyone into helping us without them knowing everything. This isn’t…some sort of cool game. It could threaten your life. We do want your help, and we are trying to get as many people as possible to get back control of division and stop this ‘witch hunt’ against us.

Luckily, since you’re already here in New York, if you really want to join us, you can start training right away. So…you still in?

Believe it or not- this isn’t the first time I’ve had a file. I think it might be the third or fourth, but I do love having one. Let’s me know that people notice me, but for the reasons I want them to notice me. Well, maybe not in this case, actually definitely not in this case.

I think it would have been worse if I had no idea that I could do this, this thing. It’s a lot easier to cope with when you know you’re not normal, that your life has never been normal and things have been a little sketchy. That or learning I have a fucking superpower means I’m not easily surprised anymore. 

I didn’t think you were kidding about that, not a lot of people tell others they’re in danger for the fun of it. So trust me, I know. I know this isn’t a game, this is real life and I’ve been running for years now because of this. So now I’m faced with two options because I’m frankly tired of running, fend for myself, try not to fuck up and be in immediate danger. Or, join this thing, learn to control whatever I have, and be with people who will make that danger a little less immediate. Either way you look at it, my life is threatened.

Exactly like that. I can manipulate electricity, I can make it go ‘boom’. It’s a great power to have when people piss you off. Very well. Open minded, I’ll have to write that down–somewhere…Anyway, I’ll just start from the beginning. Like way back before either of us were born. 

Okay first thing: Some weirdos thought it would a good idea to experiment on people, in order to develop super abilities, unfortunately that means our parents were either too dumb or too poor and went along with it. They never saw the effects of that experiment, but we did. That’s why you are able to do illusions.

There’s a place… where all us misfits and freaks were able to be “safe” from those who were trying to hunt us down because of our nature. It was called division. Those who were recruited, were given the skills to control their powers.

Unfortunately someone–really bad dude–managed to infiltrate the organization, and is using all the resources to capture mutants, locking them away for god knows what. Division keeps track of everyone born with abilities, whether they are recruited or not. So that means, you and hundreds of other people are likely to be the next victim.

Well I’m glad that you aren’t going to tackle me to the ground- wait. Actually, I wouldn’t mind that too much. 

That’s pretty badass, not going to lie, like you said sounds like a good thing to have when you’re pissed off and want people to know just how pissed off you are. Do I have a file, when you say you’re going to have to write that down somewhere, do you mean you’re going to have to write it down in my file? 

Well shit, that- is it weird that all of that had brought me a little clarity. Because before I didn’t have an idea, I thought I was alone in this and I’ve moved so much because I accidentally fucked up and revealed myself in some way. But to know that all of this is happen, it make things a little clearer. 

Though, I’m not sure I like the whole I’m in danger thing and frankly it sounds like this is your way of recruiting me. If I’m wrong, let me know. But if I’m not, I’m in. I’m tried of running and I’d like to be able to control whatever this is that I can do- if it means taking down some bad guys in the process, well, it’ll make me feel like Tom Cruise and who wouldn’t want to feel that way.
