Sam Travis - My Favourite...
The location and style of these images were very important when it came to the inspiration for my shoot. the positioning of the models and what they are wearing was also very important.
Corrado Chiozzi - In my opinion...
I used the surreal colours and snap shots of everyday life as the inspiration for my shoot around the city Turin. I shot people going about their daily activities just like Corrado does.
Adrian Cook - Dynamic Black and White
I used the style of these images, grainy black and white, documentary images as my inspiration for this shoot.
Week 8 - Same subject, 4 angles
For this shoot I took four different images from different angles under the vast marble walkways in the city of Turin, these large walkways can be seen throughout the city.

Week 7 - My Favourite
These images are shot using my favourite type of camera medium, 35mm film, they are also shot on a location I have previously used as it is one of my favourite locations too with the colours in the images coming out beautifully on the 35mm.
@esherphotography
Week 11 - Choose your own title!
For this last shoot we were able to choose our own title, I chose the title ‘last days’ as i wanted to document the end of my summer and therefore my time at Reading. These images also sum up my summer in a way.
@esherphotography
Week 5 - Looking up, Looking down
I used a very shallow depth of field, looking up and down from the trunk of the tree. To give it an abstract look and I think it works effectively especially with the looking down shots as it only focus’ on a small part of the tree.
@esherphotography
Week 4 - Self Portrait
For this shoot I took images of things around my room as i believe the thing in the images and how they are positioned show a lot about me, almost more than a simple face portrait would.
@esherphotography
Week 6 - Morning Light
For this shoot I decided to use the morning light for a street fashion style shoot, I used an urban location at the top of an office block, as there was nothing blocking the light it was much easier to use the light and get the right exposure ect.
@esherphotography
Andre Titcombe - Morning Light
I used Andre Titcombe for this shoot as I wanted to shoot street fashion style images but in morning light, I chose a similar location the ones in these images for my own shoot.
@esherphotography
Week 10 - What is it?
I first took close up images of different flowers and plants using a very shallow depth of field, I used the shallow depth of field so that I could give it a more abstract look when I came to doing the second part of my images. What I did second was overlap two of these images on Photoshop so the images would appear abstract and link into the title of What is it?
@esherphotography
Luigi Benedetti - What is it?
I used Luigi Benedetti for his simple shallow depth of field abstract looking close ups of different parts of nature, this is where I got the inspiration for my shoot.
@esherphotography
Week 9 - In my opinion…
These images were shot in Turin, Italy. They show normal people around the city, not knowing the photos are being taken this is what I like about the images they are very natural and shows different going about their everyday lives.
@esherphotography
Week 2 - Dynamic Black and White These pictures were ones I shot during Nass festival. I took them on an Ilford black and white disposable camera. I shot pictures of my friends throughout it doing different things. I like using the disposable as you can just point and shoot and capture images in the moment. @esherphotography
Week 3 - Frame your subject
I used two different photos as a way of framing my images, I first shot portraits as the images that were going to be framed; I then looked for square or rectangle natural borders for example doorways and entrances to alley ways. I then cut out the frames and stuck them over the portrait images.
@esherphotography
Liam Wylie - Frame your subject I used the manual manipulation Liam used as inspiration for my shoot, I used the idea of manually cutting the images and then layering other images behind the first one. @esherphotography
ARTIST INFLUENCE:
Nastya Kaletkina’s method of analog photography, specifically portraiture was the influence for my shoot. I have replicated this in my work by also using an analog method of shooting as well as my images bringing across the same kind of grunge effect. I think that I have done this quite successfully as my images portray a similar grungy analog effect, as I shot using film. To improve the amount of inspiration taken from the artist study I could have used more extravagant poses and made the images slightly more obvious as to what they are even though that would have gone against the brief.
TECHNICAL/AESTHETIC:
Technical skills that I have used in this shoot include the use of lighting, I positioned the model in front of the sun so that it would create the silhouetted effect and therefore creating a faceless portrait. I have also used a shallow depth of field in these images giving the background a nice grain and texture. I have used this technical skill so that I could create the similar analog effect as my artist study. The lighting in these pictures is hidden behind the model to make the silhouette however, the lighting still shines around the model creating an outline of gold in the dark rest of the image. This shoot links to my title as it is as portrait and you can not see the models face.
SUMMERY:
Overall I think that the shoot was quite successful as it followed the title of the shoot in quite an original way. to improve the images i would have liked them a little bit brighter so I could have seen more of the model.
