Drink too much last night, babe?
Nope. The headache just randomly started about half an hour ago.

“Yeah, they’re like magic… Especially mine,” she added jokingly. “I know,” Hadley laughed, acting as if she just worked a miracle. Smiling at the response, she leaned back into the couch. “You’re so nice, I have no clue why,“ she grinned. "Okay what’s your favorite food so when I come home I could get some too and we could have a whole buffet with it.”
Jamie giggled, “definitely like magic.” She shrugged at Hadley’s statement, “why wouldn’t I be nice to you?” she questioned, furrowing her eyebrows slightly and letting out a tiny chuckle. “You don’t have to do this, I like pizza too.”
scout-for-arden:
Oh, sorry, just got into a mood funk. Do you need Advil? Something stronger? I’m a nurse I can get that kind of thing for you.
I think Advil would work for me. Thank God for nurses.
Would you please turn that music down? My head is about to explode, I’m certain. Which earns me a whole day in bed.

“I’m not complaining though, hugs are always nice, you know.” Jamie replied with a grin. “What a lovely person you are,” she said giggling. “You did such a great job taking care of it, it’ll probably get healed soon.” She shrugged at her roommate’s next question. The unexpected confession from a bit earlier somehow made her less hungry. “Not really. Yeah, but I got it for you because you always enjoy pizza.”

Hadley looked at Jamie carefully, studying her features. “You sure?” she asked with a concerned tone in her voice. She bent down quickly and engulfed the girl in her arms again. “Sorry I just thought you could use another one,” Hadley explained before releasing her roommate out of her embrace. She gave her a grin and made her way over to their little kitchen area and placed a slice on a plate to put in the microwave and when it was done, she did the same for another slice. “Here you go,” she handed her a plate and a napkin before placing the other plate and two water bottles on their coffee table. “So how’s your knee?” she asked while getting herself situation back on the couch.
“Yes, I’m sure.” Jamie assured her roommate. “My heart is not shattered.” She added, offering the other girl a half smile. The sudden hug took her slightly by surprise, but she let her arms wrap around the other girl. “I don’t think I’ve ever received that many hugs from you,” she said playfully, burying her face in the girl’s shoulder. Jamie’s eyes followed Hadley as she made her way to the kitchen and came back with the pizza slices. She took her plate from the girl’s hands, “thanks.” She took a small bite from her pizza, only then realizing that she wasn’t even that hungry anymore, but took another small bite. “It’s okay now, thanks to you.”

She rubbed Jamie’s back softly before pulling back. “Thank you,” she said with a sympathetic look on her face before reverting her eyes back down. “Um, anyway,” Hadley started to say, “are you okay?” She asked, wondering how her roommate was feeling about everything. “Also do you want pizza? I’ll heat some slices up for us in the microwave since it’s probably cold by now.” She offered as she proceeded to get up and stretch from her seat.
“Any time,” Jamie replied, yet still thinking that there’s nothing to thank her for. She smiled softly at her roommate upon hearing the girl’s question, shrugging slightly, “I’m okay,” she answered honestly. She was okay despite the heart that was still beating a bit faster than usual in her chest, and the still lightly flushed face, but it was starting to get back to normal gradually. “Yeah, okay,” she nodded at Hadley’s offer.

“I’m so sorry this is so messy,” Hadley apologized after the girl’s response, upset that she couldn’t be more reassuring about the whole situation. The truth is she didn’t know where everything would be headed at the moment, so she didn’t want to make any promises she couldn’t keep which made her feel very incompetent. “Thanks for being understanding about everything. And I’m sorry that this didn’t go the way you might’ve hoped, but I can guarantee you that no matter what happens our relationship isn’t going to diminish,” she pulled Jamie in for a hug to show her appreciation for her patience and tolerance with her.
“You don’t need to apologize.” Jamie told her roommate, struggling to understand why Hadley was the one apologizing about the messy situation while she was the one who put them in it. “I don’t know what way I hoped it’d go, honestly. I understand that you can’t, uh, decide or anything before speaking to Gus.” She said with a shrug. Jamie smiled lightly at the girl’s last sentence, which meant a lot to her, wrapping her arms around Hadley.

Hadley shook her head, finally bringing her eyes up to meet Jamie’s. “No! No, it’s okay,” she said suddenly, not wanting the girl to feel bad for anything, “It’s better that you told me. Because now I know how you feel and now you know how I feel… Which is a very good thing because now we’re honest with each other and we know what’s going on. See, don’t worry nothing bad happened between us, we’re all good.” She gave her a comforting grin, rubbing small circles on her roommate’s hand as she thought of what to say next. “Yeah but you make me happy too in a different way. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I’m going to talk to Gus about it as soon as I can,” Hadley spoke softly.
Jamie returned to her nervous habit of nibbling on her lower lip as Hadley finally brought her eyes up and made their eyes meet. She slowly nodded at her words, breaking their eye contact to look down at their hands as Hadley rubbed circles on her hand, an action in which she found slight comfort. Jamie wondered in what different way she made her roommate happy, but decided not to question the already confused girl. “Okay,” she replied, keeping her quiet tone, finding nothing better to say.

Same, theyre one of the many definitions of happiness for me. Why thank you, I do hope so. I’ll probably have to run it by Beuys first if we're going to get a new kitten. I can totally picture him just loathing sharing the attention with just any little furball. Definitely another reason why I just have a cat - I don't have to feel guilty if I don’t feel like going out for hour long walks for once. See? There's no denying that this is without a doubt the best solution for everybody. No one could ever blame you for handling the situation this way. You're just trying to help a dog in distress here.
We seem to have that in common. Yeah, and that's great because I can't stand people who take in a pet and then don't take care of it or throw it away, I saw that happening so many times and that's terrible. Which is why you should make sure you could afford a pet before taking one in. Cats are so comfortable and clean, I love them. Definitely, just helping a dog in distress.
hunterphoenixx:
Very true. My face isn’t one of the seven wonders of the world.
I mean, you do have a really nice face, but cats might not think the same.
thelittlestmontgomery:
Oh, me too. Maybe I should start looking for a kitten again. I guess I just managed to forget about their cuteness for a while because my cat is very high maintenance. He’s just too spoiled. But they’re definitely easier to have around in bigger numbers than dogs. Of course you will. You’re an honourable person and all. Which is also why you just can’t help but put the dog’s health first. Every decent person who could would react exactly the same way.
Maybe you should, kittens are one of the sources of my happiness. At least that way you know that you take a really good care of your cat. Yeah, dogs are definitely harder, you have to take dogs out and they make more mess while cats just sleep all the day. You're very right, my friend. And I'm sure my roommate wouldn't mind him, she loves dogs. I'll just let him in for a little while and see if I could find his owner, yep, that sounds like a plan.

It felt like years before the silence was broken. Hadley continued looking down and just nodded her head in response. Now she was the one who couldn’t look at Jamie, feelings of uneasiness coming over her. She cracked a tiny smile of appreciation at the girl’s touch and stopped her nervous movements in order to hold onto the other’s hand rather tightly, more like out of need. “Yeah,” she breathed out. “I really like spending time with you,” she slowly admitted. “And I didn’t really think it was much of an issue to really think about and analyze until, well, now,” she said, internally conflicted on the best way to handle her situation. “It’s not like a bad issue though. I mean you’re fine, you’re great, but I’m just a mess of a person,” she added quickly so Jamie wouldn’t get the wrong idea.
Jamie smiled a half smile in return as she felt Hadley holding onto her hand. She knew the girl was conflicted and confused, and didn’t know what to say to help. She gave her roommate’s hand a slight squeeze as she listened to her words, that admittedly caused butterflies to form in her stomach. “I don’t know what to say,” she confessed, while trying to think of a way to express her thoughts. “I’m sorry I told you everything while knowing that you have someone else. I know that’s unfair.” Jamie took a deep breath before continuing voicing her thoughts. “I know he makes you happy and everything, and the last thing I want is to ruin that for you. I just felt like I needed to tell you how I feel. I’m not expecting you to return it.” Her voice grew quiet as she finished her sentence.
thelittlestmontgomery:
Right? I’m surprised I’m still only at cat 1. I’m sure it’s the same with dogs. Your puppy grows up and you want more and suddenly you have a gigantic pack you can’t fully be in charge of because you just have far too many dogs. Right? He definitely does. Letting him dehydrate would be awful of us, wellbeing has to be a priority here. And since I’m not sure if my cat will get along with a dog, I’d say there’s no other option but for you to take on the task and take this poor baby in for now…
Now I’m surprised that you only have one. It’s the same with dogs, but cats are more easy because they’re not as hard to take care of as dogs, so you can get a lot more cats. Yep, definitely, pretty sure your cat won’t get along with him and that leaves us with our only option, for me to take him in. Only because we can’t let him dehydrate, of course. But I’ll try to find his owner later on, for sure.

Slowly pulling back, Hadley took a deep breath, completely winging what she was about to say. “But you didn’t…” she insisted. “And to be honest, I really am relieved that you said it because I don’t know… When we’re together I feel all the things you’re supposed to feel when you’re with someone that really means a lot to you. And I just passed it off as thinking that it’s cause you’re just such good friend to me. But now that you told me how you feel, it’s made me realize that maybe you mean more than just a friend to me… And I’m just so confused right now because yeah,” she rambled, her voice getting quieter as she finished her last sentence. All the confidence and eye contact she tried to muster fell apart the second she opened her mouth to talk about her feelings. So now she was left nervously playing with the fabric of the end of her shirt, heart racing as she waited for Jamie’s response.
As she heard Hadley’s words, Jamie brought her eyes up to finally look back at the girl. Listening to her words made her feel like maybe telling her wasn’t a mistake. Only after hearing what Hadley had to say, she realized how much she didn’t expect it. “Really?” She questioned, her heart pounding in her chest. Jamie studied her roommate, noticing how nervous she seemed, which was a side of Hadley that she hasn’t seen much of. She placed her hand over the girl’s that was playing with the end of her shirt, in an attempt to make her feel less nervous. She didn’t know what to say and was left with no words, but didn’t want Hadley to feel uncomfortable.
